  1. Whenever you are using a capable subwoofer your speakers should be set at SMALL.

When you use the SMALL setting is when your crossover comes into play and then the crossover should be adjusted accordingly to your speakers capabilities.

You want your very lowest frequencies directed to the subwoofer then adjust the crossover to a setting that works well with your speakers the more capable your speakers are at producing low frequency the lower you can set your crossover setting. Experiment with various crossover settings to find what works best for your speaker setup.

For most large speakers it is best to set the speakers as SMALL then set the crossover to something between 40hz and 80hz as to what works best with your particular speaker/subwoofer combo. When using a smaller or a satellite speaker you should use a higher crossover setting sometimes as high as 120hz again according to the speakers capabilities.

Many people think "My speakers are large so I should use the LARGE setting" this is completely incorrect.

    Very well said Thanks..

  2. I'll summarize my experience:

    1) Signed up for daily deals.

    2) Went online and entered the promo code for a Klipsch sub and there was a glitch, it wasn't working.

    3) Called customer service, after a wait, she said that the system was having problems and so they were only taking orders at the moment for in-store pickup.  (!)(a)  She told me I could wait maybe an hour and place an order online that would ship.

    4) Tried about an hour later, no luck.

    5) Tried again later that evening.  It allowed orders for in-store pickup, but not for shipping.

    6) A few days later, the same offer was posted, again with free shipping, different promo code but same deal.

    7) Went online, tried to place an order to ship to me.  Wouldn't allow it -- but would allow in-store pickup.

    8) E-mailed customer service with my concerns that I had tried this no two different occasions, could I get the deal shipped to me?

    9)  No response (!)(B), now a few days later.

So listen, I never have bought anything at Frys before and don't have any experience with them except this one.  It's deceptive practices on their part, plain and simple.  It COULD have been an advertising error, if she simply would have said so.  It could have been a systems problem, except they made no effort to honor the deal.  And the "proof" to me that it's intentional is the fact that customer service didn't respond -- at all -- to a simple inquiry asking about the offer.

None of this means you shouldn't go there.  I'm just saying wow what a lame experience it was trying to purchase something from them.  If they don't want to ship cool no problem.  But the sleazy old-school sales of making you go in the store just tells me don't bother.

Yeah that's a tough experience. I have had a few issues regarding my promo codes not working. The big thing I don't care for is that frys stores and frys.com are like two separate operations. I've bought from frys.com before and needed to make a return, but They wanted me to ship it back because I couldn't return it it in store which makes no sense. At least that's how it is here in so cal. But ordering with frys is typically smooth

  3. I'm a strong believer in getting the best biggest center you can afford or have room for. You will not regret it. If you're worried about it being overpowering or whatever you can always tone it down. However you can't do the opposite with a crappy or even not as good center.

  4. For the price exactly...probably not bad, but they're certainly not the crux of Klipsch innovation in subs either. My two cents anyway.

Bottom line though, if you like them, they were worth it.

That pretty much much sums up what I was thinking. Thank you

  5. Wish I could've found a deal like that. I wanted the r25c to match my r-26f's when I bought them, but ended up with the rp250c because it was on sale cheaper than the r25c. Let's just say I can't wait to swap my r-26f's to rp250f's or rp260f's soon.

  6. Hi, new guy here with his second post. I run two R-12sw subs with my 5.2 system. My question is what are the thoughts on these subs? I looked to see if I could find any thoughts or reviews on here but didn't notice any. What are your thoughts? What's the good and bad with these? I ended up paying $450 for both of them from frys. Just curious if you guys think there was something noticeably better I could've bought with that $450. They are much much better than the two 10" polk subs I ran with my pervious Sony home theater. Just looking for thoughts. Thank you.

  7. Thanks. I've been moving the subs around a lot trying to find the right spot. I'm assuming that part of my problem is my TV is corner caddied and my center and front towers are also set up that way. I'm glad that it's a placement issue more than it being a user issue. Thank you

  8. Hello all. New to the forum and happy to be here. I'm running two r12-sw subs, each placed in a corner opposite of eachother. At one point I had them both in the same corner and they would just pound my house, but there were some dead spots that didn't get that some thump. So I put both subs in there own corner which is why I bought a serving sub in the first place. The sound, sounds ok. It doesn't have that same hard thump when they were together. The sound really comes alive when I switch the phase on one sub. But the downfall is that there is a dead zone in the middle area of the two subs. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated .thank you
