  1. Been sitting here listening to Boston and what really hits me is the sounds of the drumming. Holy crap it sounds like nothing I have ever heard in my home. Vocals and guitars and keyboard sound so full bodied and that drum beat —- whoooohoo. So dynamic and still less than 10 hours on them.
  2. I have a really nice HSU 15" Sub and it fills in nicely down to the low teens where the Forte IVs can not go. I think almost ALL speakers need a subwoofer more for the "feeling" of those lower registers much more than for the sound they produce.
  3. Now i would love to hear the Forte IIIs - All I know is the IVs were totally worth the $$$$$$$$$$$
  4. They sound very good right where they are. I will play with placement farther from the wall but they are about 6 inches away now that was the sweet spot with my Forte 1s placed in exactly the same place. If they sound better, once broken in, I will move them a little farther out but they sound pretty darned good right wher they are so far.
  5. That new video was very interesting to me as I originally wanted the Cornwalls based on reviews but there was no way they would fit my room. The Forte IVs feel so much larger than my Fort 1s. Comparisons are fun but most people do not have the ability or means to AB multiple pairs of speakers in their listening spaces. Glad the guys at Pudacah shared this review.
  6. They are basically setup like I had setup my Forte 1s so I just initially set these new ones the same. As they break in I will play with positioning. The soundstage is much wider and has more depth than my original Fortes so over time I will figure out optimal placement for my living room.
  7. Yes they were expensive but it was worth it - The speakers came from the Klipsch dealer yesterday and the additional grills came directly from Klipsch today. The PL is 70 watts a channel with the stock EL34 tubes and it sounded amazing like that, but... - I tube rolled some preamp tubes, Brimar and I liked the sound and decided to go for the KT 150s and I love the punch even more with them.Same sound I like with the new Fortes. Very live sound to the music now.
  8. I never heard the 3s but the 4s are very impressive. The bass is very strong and the midrange sounds incredible. The stage is deep and wide. I think the midrange drivers are the same as in the Cornwalls. Some people have said the crossovers use much higher quality parts.
  9. They really are beautiful in person. The second I attached them to my new Fortes my wife had a huge smile on her face. Totally worth paying the extra $$$$ to get the lambs wool grills for our space and decor.
  10. The new Cherry Forte IVs - I bought the alternate lambswool Grills and I am glad I ordered them because I love the way they look in our living room! Beautiful and classy. My wife loves them which is always a plus.
  11. Hi John, like you, I prefer my beautiful wife over extra large speakers. For me it’s more than just that I prefer things to a certain scale. Obviously the Forte IVs have only been available for a little over a week and most commenting about the Cornwall IVs versus the Forte IVs have never even heard the Forte IVs.
  12. Something I have finally concluded. What I was looking for was a wider and deeper soundstage. Over the last year that is what I have tried to achieve with my Primaluna tube integrated amp, my Denefrips Pontus DAC, my Puffin phono preamp and now my new Forte IVs. The system now sounds much more holographic than my previous setup. So the ultimate system to my ears is one whose synergy creates that holographic soundstage. I think the new speakers really do that well and I don’t think in my sized space larger speakers would substantially make the soundstage better.
  13. The Fortes are a perfect size and look great and are as big as I could go in my space but they sound big. Much bigger than my Fortes 1s
  14. That’s a pretty large room. I would go for the cornwalls with that much space.
  15. Steve I so get it. They have far exceeded my expectations also. I listened all day and don’t want to stop now. Playing on my Primaluna with KT 150s sounds magical. I played a lot of acoustical music this afternoon and they sounded better than any speakers I have ever heard.
  16. I was bummed out I couldn’t fit the Cornwall IVs in my space but these scale perfectly in our space. It’s all about synergy and these Forte IVs sound so much bigger than my originals. Shout out to Chief Bonehead — thank you Roy
  17. They sound amazing on my PL EVO 400 = I am totally blown away. They are so much better than my Forte 1s - I am very very happy! The PL was made to Drive the Forte IVs. I feel like a kid on XMAS morning!
  18. Ok its been a couple of hours since I unpacked the speakers and set them up and here are my first impressions and what I hoped would be different from my Forte 1s. First off they look beautiful. The veneer looks fantastic and are beautifully bookmatched. I will take some pictures later today and post. the first thing I noticed was the BASS! Wow! I have a large HSU subwoofer and that goes down to the lowest registers. So there is plenty of bass below 30hz from my sub, but the new Forte 4s pump the bass above that at a much punchier place than the 1s did. Very powerful and clean and clear. So what bothered me about my Forte 1s was the soundstage and the IVs have a much wider soundstage and with much more depth. Also the main singers are much more centered along with instruments being better placed meaning not blending together - A guitar is to the left and the drum set is back in the right behind the frontmen. You get the idea - instead of everything blending together the players appear to be where they would be on stage. Depth of stage is much deeper than the 1s. Quite simply the Forte IVs sound spectacular. They are exactly what I was missing in my original Fortes and I am very satisfied and feel it was more than worth the $$$$. I also want to thank Cory at Paducah for great customer service and competitive pricing along with very quick delivery. They more than ROCK - I love it when something I want exceeds my expectations. They seem like so much bigger speakers than my 1s! I can not wait to get a few hundred hours on them.
  19. Hi Dark - they arrived and they are gorgeous and its only been a few minutes but I already have some first impressions. There were a few things I wanted improved from my Forte 1s and in the initial listening I can clearly see some differences which I will expand upon in more detail very soon after i sit and listen more closely - stay tuned! lol Heads up they were TOTALLY worth adding to my system.
  20. My fortes arrive tomorrow and I sure hope they are book matched —- now I am concerned
  21. Very exciting- and congrats - Kat is the TT expert at Upscale - very knowledgeable and is an analog expert and super nice. She started showing me the EVO 400 and then Kevin came in and sat with me and dialed me in -- all the people at Upscale are outstanding.
  22. Upscale is indeed in La Verne just across the street from the Pomona Drag Strip. They do have Klipsch on display and they usually stock speakers in every finish imaginable. Kevin Deal doesn't want people to have to wait for stereo gear so he makes sure they are always well stocked.
  23. Hi Ken - I bought my EVO 400 from Upscale along with my phono preamp and my latest upgrade the 8 kt 150s - damn it sounds good. Great personal service from everyone at Upscale. Kevin and his staff are all awesome. I cant wait to get my Fortes - they are coming on Friday. Congrats an enjoy your Primaluna - I love mine so much~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
