  1. You need to run them in parallel, and use a high-current, preferrably toroidal transformer based power amp capable of pushing 4ohm loads w/out much distortion. If I read your post right, you are modifying 2 Heresy's into one enclosure using all the drivers from both, making one KICK-*** center channel, is this correct?
  2. Who is Ed, Who is Dave, and to they know Steve? I am so confused, have to turn up my Chorus I's a bit louder, the vibrations are clouding my thinking!!!
  3. Yes, we all well know the intricate miracle of speaker design is something that we mere miniscule mortals are not capable of achieving, but I think this thread was started with the intent of "FINDING OUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE TRIED AND IF IT DID/DID NOT WORK FOR THEM AND ANY RECOMMENDATIONS THEY MIGHT HAVE AND/OR SUGGESTIONS" That said, I have a set of beat-the=hell+up heresy II's that I would like to modify extensively, perhaps even forming molds and using concrete as walls, who knows, so any advice given would be more than welcome.
  4. I recently heard the RF-7's at Audio King here in Minnesota, and was not really that impressed with them, even though they were being powered by the Sunfire amp which is good. Maybe my impression, but my Chorus I's sound better, play louder, and are a hell of a lot tighter sounding. The 7's seem to be an attempt to neuter the 'horn' sound into mainstream marketing practice, and I found the porting to provide low but loose bass. When opened up a bit, they just don't put the "fear of God" feeling down like the horn loaded oldschool's. Admittedly they are quite a bit smoother sounding in several area's, and the crossover transition is sonically almost non-existant. Depends what YOU like, listen to everything, believe NO ONE unless they've walked a mile in the shoes you are trying on.
  5. Hi, this is my first post, recently purchased Chorus I's from a great couple in Iowa after losing 3 ebay auctions. I'm running my Chorus' with a 14yr old Sansui B2102 amp that is extremely high current, high output, and very smooth sounding. My friend Todd borrowed me one of his Adcom GFA-555Mk2 to compare, and it is a brute, makes these things sound like there'e a subwoofer attached to 'em, but highs are skreetchy and shrill. Wondering what these small amps you guys talk about sound like compared to the beasty amps I'm running in my Home theater? Seem to be all the rage, but can they keep up when going concert volume? I don't know much about these S.E.T. Amps or others, heard the silver 7's years ago on some Chapman's up in Seattle.
