Like ears said. If you use a sub mostly for music then you may want the RSW. If you use it mainly for HT, or need a sub that goes really low go for the SVS

The speakers arent bad by any means but they are known to give out after a couple weeks. If you want to be sure they wont save up a little more and get the 5.1's but make sure your sound card can handle them.

i just received a free replacemnt subwoofer after the amp in mine died so they work fine (for now)

what is a "tube". all i hear when im in the klispch forums is "tube this tube that". i know its a dumb question but what are they and why are they so good?

any SVS sub will give you kick *** bass and if you want a sub that can go reaaaaaaaaaaaaaalyyyyyyyyy low for not to much $ get the 16-46PC. its flat to like 20HZ and SVS says it can go doiwn to 10HZ (WOW). or if you want REALLY powerful bass get the svs ultra. two svs ultras will be more powerful than the velodyne HGS-18.

i found a pair of old speakers on my attic.

thats a picture of them. they have 10 inch woofers and are made by advent. does anyone know if these are any good. i havent had a chance to hook them up but iuf there good i thow em' in my room.

also svs says the PC models have a shorter tube making them a little bit (like 1 db)less powerful. they have shorter tube because they need room for the internal amp.

THANKS MIKE!!!! you saved me about $400i added up all the prices and it comes to around 2300. thats pushing my budget but it was 2700 before!!

i think ill get the 20-39PC (powered). its like waaaaaaaaaaaaay stretching that $500 but i dont really have any other option. of they had places where you could buy these pother than SVS it would be fine. the KSW-15 retails for the exact same price as the 20-39PC but i found it new for $454

also how much can i pick up a used 200 watt amp for? i know the 16-46 is overkill but if you look at my first post thats exactly what i want!

i dont have the system yet. im going to buy all reference 3 klipsch but i have no idea what sub to get. i need it to be about $500. the reciever im planbning on getting puts out 110 watts per channel. i cant get one that puts out 150 per channel because that would cost to much. i think ill buy the svs and then buy the reciever from the dude that said he would sell it for $30.

so i could use an old reciever to get an extra 150 watts. that would be 260 watts would that be good?
