I would recap the AAs and be done. You could do the tweeter change and crossover mod change to 4500 but that requires a tweeter from Bob. There are a lot posts on here on what needs to be done and could be done.
I would also check the air tightness of the woofer chamber on those being 72s. Its pretty easy to do but kinda hard to explain here.
It all depends on how far you want to go making these sound as good as possible do not forget to use pipe insulation to seal woofer unit to corner also the horizontal part of the woofer chamber.

What are grippers?

Nice setup, I have been waiting to hear more about the A55G.
Please update once you have got those drivers broke in.

That's very nice work.

Both are great speakers, A/B is a tough call, just going to boil down to preference.
Then figure out how to keep them both and swap them out from time to time for a change of scenery.

Those look fantastic, nice work.

I think that was Shinall.

Very nice setup JWC.
Looks like a lot of magic and snake oil in those Cornscala's. How do they sound.

Welcome to the forum.
I think this is a question best answered by the Klipsch engineers, as I might inadvertently steer you down a dark and twisty path to a pit of magic snake oil.

That looks like it might work ok, however I expect the output to be a few db lower than the k33.
If you are using an adjustable crossover or active unit you can pad the hf down to match.
Never hurts to give them a shot.

Martinelli stuff never comes up for sale, because its excellent.
I think Bill retired a few years back from horn building.
-
If the woofer you are referring to is the 15c, it should be a suitable replacement.

Nice, dug this one out of the archives.

In my opinion its all about the detail at low levels.
Not trying to start an argument Dean, don't jump on the offensive.

I use Fastrac horns in my LaScalas. I like them, but the sound isn't as dynamic as the K-400s at the volumes I listen at - which is pretty low - I'm a late night listener.
I had a very different experience, to me the tractrix had far better detail at lower levels.

I bet it sounds great. Love Heresy's
I think Crites make Wedge stands for those if you need to kick the up a little when the furniture arrives.

Looking good, keep up the fine work.

I was probably one of those that chased them away. I don't like fake experts and I don't like people coming on the klipsch forum and putting down our design engineers and peddling their own magic crap. I for one will hope to affect the end of the peddlers who come on here to the klipsch forum and talk about so called upgrades to our speakers. Upgrades? That really takes a lot gall. You just better be damn glad that paul was not younger when this forum started or you would think I am angel compared to what he would tell the peddlers.
Maybe you were, I wouldn't know.
I have no idea who you are, but angel is not how I would describe you.

I have been following this forum for years, I was member before the forum shift.
Seems to me that several well known contributors left this forum, or rarely post due to being
hounded and badgered. Its a real shame because a few of these contributors have valid
opinions eagerly dismissed because their opinions differ from that of the self appointed
Klipsch Clergy.
Few more names to look out for: Bob Crites used to participate, share projects, was immensely helpful. Now Bob post minimally and rarely shares info about new projects. Anyone remember the birth of the Cornscala "Bobs test box" ? Al Klappenberger (ALK) was very helpful, though could not(agree to disagree). Al used to say pick your experts wisely.
NOS Valves used to post a lot, (Very Helpful) I see Craig is back, but not the same.
Forum member I cant remember the name something "D" designed and built a speaker called the Jamboree.
What happened to DJK was kind of a jerk, but great projects, and wise.
I do miss Amy, good person and fair moderator. +++++
I guess all of these members just have personal agenda's nothing legitimate to add or share.
Congrats to all that contributed to chase these members away.

It's not yet available for purchase.

Bruce
Its not an open baffle, the one in the pics is rear ported, but the description says sealed or ported.

Sweeeeet.

This is an interesting read, though I am not sure I could hear the difference between a Sonicap and a Bennic.

Faital Pro LTH102 have a very good reputation and can be streched toward 600 Hz in a baffle and in a domestic setting. The larger LTH142 can go lower still. Both need some adaptors as the Selenium is a screw on driver. How well those adapors work I do not know.
The LTH142 is quite good. This is the budget horn I would choose, but not sure about the adapter to 1 inch.

The Khorn being a 3 way would require and additional crossover element to operate in a KHorn.
