  1. I guess if I would have set there for two hours at a dealer it may have made a difference. I guess you listened to yours that long? I do like the speakers. Im going to bed. Sweet Dreams all.
  2. http://www.bobhodas.com/examining-the-yamaha-ns-10m.php I couldn't resist.
  3. Oh I'm not going anywhere just don't have anymore to add on this. Some will agree and some won't. Just the way people are. I'm not even saying I'm right. Just my opinion. I like to kill some time on here and learn from you folks. Im running emotiva gear. Pt-100 preamp tuner, A-300 amp, etc-3 cd player transport. Im not like some of you. I buy a system. Listen to it till it wears out. Buy new gear. Not about tweaking this and that or adding mods to speakers. Peace!
  4. There may be 30k+ with l pads added. Just kidding. This is the last thing I'm going to say on the subject. The only thing negitive I've ever saw was to bright. Splits my head. Fatigue , harshness. Mods are out there even for the higher priced models. Whats wrong with a fix that doesn't affect the brightness for those that aren't bothered by it. Im done and know lots of you have 0 problems but it seems more than a few do. If it drove up sales just 5 percent I bet the company would love it. Im done bye!!
  5. Im getting tired. I done went thru this on the fist post that was taken down. I would not spend 16000 for a horn because as much as I love music that would be a BIG hit. I love the rp280f speakers and for the room I have I love them. I put on the first thread that most rooms are far from perfect and a lot of ears are not either. I love the brand I just see this as a improvement in my opinion. Please don't be haten lol!
  6. I double posted and they took down the first one. Im not going thu it again.
  7. Maybe you don't agree but its not trolling. I have a pair of rp280f speakers. I see on the net that other sometimes find them to bright also. I know nothing is perfect but I liked the older speakers that had l pads for adjustment. I love my speakers as I put on the thread but they would give me headaches after a bit. I just put tissue over the tweeters and it sounds great. I know you see people doing mods and why is that usually. Because they are too bright and give them fatigue after awhile. Yow are fooling yourself if you find I'm the only one that feels this way. People spend tons of money trying to tame the highs and I feel this would be a big plus. This is a forum isn't it? With l pads you could run them wfo wide open if your ears are young with little abuse or toned down afuzz that still love the sound just needing alittle less on the high end. These speakers have been around for a long time and some fans are older. The blue colar part came from me working in a factory for thirty plus years around lots of noise. And for those telling me to get a different brand I say no no no and you can't make me! This is just my opinion so you can agree or not. Thats how a forum works but if I was the only one that felt this way Crites mods and others would not exist.
  8. I wanted the ones taken away without many posts but what the heck.
  9. I think alot of the Klipschs fan base is older people that could not afford Klipsch speakers when they were younger. Some aren't I know but I for one always wanted a pair. Some may be tired of heaing me wine but I can't take the full attack of Kllipsch highs! Im sure you also know I've toned them down abit using the tissue over the tweeter. I put this in a post but want Klipsch to see this. With the older guys working in factories time has taken a toll on our ears and rooms are not perfect either. Why can't we get speakers from the factory with L pads added to tone the super highs down abit for some of the 60s and 70s generation vrs having to get mods done to calm them down abit? Have it adjustable so younger folks can run them full tilt and us that need a fuzz less can crank them down little and still enjoy the Klipsch sound.Others need to tell me if I'm out of line or if they agree. I see lots of mods to tame them so that is a clue! Am I nut or is this a reasonable question?

  11. I so wish klipsch would put in adjustment for the highs from the factory. It seems to me there are other brands that cause fatigue also but klipsch is mentioned quite often. It would be nice if you had some adjustment. It could be room problems or peoples ears but I would be willing to pay more for the change and would keep the highs where they are now for those it doesn't bother and for people like me could turn it down fuzz to make our ears happy. I still use the tp over the tweeters and it sounds great but a fix from the factory would be killer!
  12. In this post the woofer I'm talking about is my toy fox terrier gracie. I don't run my stereo loud when she's in the house. I don't have kids so she gets treated really well! I am wanting a subwoofer for my system but not if it will bother her. I have a small sub on the tv but that does not bother her. Looking at a 10 or 12 inch hsu but wonder if thats smart with a small dog who's 10 years old this year. Music sounds great without a sub but I do like bass but not more than what sounds balanced. Any one have small pets and do you have any problems?
  13. I was having the same problem with my rp280s. I was told it could be reflections off the back wall and bouncing back into the horn causing crazy things to happen. I was using the toilet paper over the tweeter and it works great. Takes just a fuzz of sparkle away. Now I'm using plastic mesh with about one third inch squares in the design. It works great and doesn't affect the highs at all. Made speakers that hurt my head and hated into speakers I'm thrilled to call my own. Im sure my room and my older abused ears are the problem but its a problem solved.
  14. 50 years old! If I was wealthy that would be quite the conversation piece. Thanks for posting.
  15. I would be locked up if I told you the story about the night me and some buds went out to watch this but it was a top 10 of f@#ked up nights in my life and in the early days thats a strong call lol.
  16. At work our stereo died and the boss let me pick out something new but I could only spend 500 dollars total. I got the 202 receiver and 4 polk t15 speakers. I picked it because some wanted bluetooth. It sounds fine at work but we run it low volume most of the time anyhow. It does not get very loud up to 50. We run it on about 42 or so just to hear it. Its not a bad little amp for what we use it for but I've had cell phones that are heavier. I would want something better for the house. I would use this little guy in the garage or for a teen maybe just starting out. But its 149 bucks and looks great. I put a antenna up about 150 ft in the air at work and it does not pick up much if any better then my pt-100 tuner preamp with a outdoor antenna 20 ft in the air.
  17. Im running the controls flat. Starts sounding kind of lifeless at less than that. I found a test online and I'm sure it was half in fun but a reveiwer for one of the stereo mags said he spent about 30 bucks on toilet paper and tissue and ran frequency response tests on different brands. Had graphs online if you look. I know it sounds crazy but it works for me. I just have it hung down from the top part of the grill so no tape on the speaker. On the underside of the grill of so you can't tell its there . It takes two sheets to make it down to the horn lol. I anyone is bored out of their minds today and off work give it a try. A lot cheaper than tube amp. cheaper than speaker wire. And it gives me the results I'm after. I saw steve hoffman pass this on on his forum for the same reason way back in 2008. found it on his forum. I don't think its a shitty idea lol. And yes I've done dumber things.
  18. I will tell you those two little pieces of toilet paper kept me from sending these back for a refund. The guys that designed the speakers would most likely like to beat me for this but it took a fuzz of the sizzle out of the upper end out and brought up the lows and made the mids stand out more. Still plenty of highs. Sounds great! This is just to my old abused ears but I swear the headaches are gone. I was reading recording studios used to do this with yamaha ns10 speakers.I just use the griil to hold in place from the top and it works. If you ever get fatigue from your speakers give this a try. It worked for me.
  19. I am cured! The toe in and running the controls flat got me 75 percent better but still not quite right. I did this before reading but checked online after the fact and others have done it also. Put a sheet of toilet paper over the tweeter. Clean preferred:) I can't believe it helped but it is night and day. So far anyhow. Have others on here done anything like this on here? I will let you know how it goes over the next few days. Or maybe I'm just losing it. Anyhow the head feels fine after a few hours of music. Peace!
  20. I have this question sent to klipsch also just wondering if I could get a quicker answer on here. Just got my speakers and want to make sure they are covered. Thanks in advance.
  21. 6ft 200 lbs. I like long walks on the beach rainbows oh you wondered how overweight I was. I was confused:) I'm a little overweight but eat pretty good 6 days a week and cheat one. Feel great for 53 with no health issues. Never had any broken bones or any major illness. Fit as a fiddle.
  22. I had a bad day at work as we lost steam at a large chemical plant when it was 6 degrees outside and the wife has been less than pleasant after I got home. I don't smoke and drink very little anymore. No headache so far. Let's see what some music does. When I was younger I saw a sign that said drink Canada Dry. I went up there lol!
  23. I'm pretty sure my only illness is a dumba$$ attack! I just got off work so I'm going to listen to some music and make sure everything is ok. I will let you know how it goes. I'm pretty sure I'm cured lol.
