  1. I ran the amp straight to the woofer. No sound. I'll likely desolder the woofer and ohm check it - but likely its blown.

Is it a speaker that can have a VC replaced ? Is that the better option - I'd like to keep it original. Mainly because it also has to match the other one - which means - well I could buy a matched pair.

  2. Anyone have a XO schematic for the one on the back side of the panel.

I have 2 large caps and 1 inductor - no markings that I can see, and No way to take it off and examine it cos there's too little wire. All the ones I am seeing has only the inductor shown. Its a 86 with AK2 XO in the hat.

I also found a wire from the woofer terminal to the VC hit the woofer frame but it was only 1 of the leads not both. Seems to be not have had a spark or any arcing though I am putting electrical tape on the woofer at that spot.

  3. The woofer is moving, so I know its not stuck, and has nice surround.

The bass bin XO section looks clean, fuses are not blown, no connections seem broken and nothing looks like magic smoke has escaped, in fact the bin smells like fresh cut wood - though worth a check with a meter.

Anyone Had a bass section just stop working ?

Worse yet - The spade connectors to the woofer are soldered on. Is that standard ? Did someone get in and screw up something.

  4. Back in the 90's we would call this as powder board - was that an word used for MDF ?

When we used to buy furniture we'd look for true wood over powderboard. I know MDF is acoustically dead, so its a good choice for that purpose.

  5. From about 1995 to 2014 I suffered with plantar Faciitis.

Inserts helped lessen the agony, but still was killing me. Rolling on a golf ball - again reduced it a bit, stretches - did nothing effectively nothing helped. Steroid shot - nope no relief.

In 2013 I had topaz surgery and they had to cut it open not do with cat scanning it - my situation was so bad from calicification  etc etc.

Sept 2013 I had it on my right foot and after 12 weeks and the progressive walking schedule - boom no more pain. The doctor wanted to get my left foot in a year or 2. Except 2014 I started going to the chiropractor who I had adjust my legs and feet - yea took a good bit of training a few of em.

4 appts a month kept all pain at bay till in 2016 I lost 70-80 lb and realized carbs feed that inflammation path way etc etc - gone for the most part pain in my left foot as well.

I occasionally roll on golf balls, wear inserts in shoes etc etc but the pain mostly is gone, and if its there is pretty mild. Not the 10 level 24/7/365 for 20 yrs.

check your speakers for a klipsch tag ------that would tell you if it's an original klipsch  khorn - a Speakerlab  --or even a DIY

I got 4 stickers that all have the same signature on it as well as 4 consequential numbers, they're Klipschorns. Not speaker labs (which are IMHO fantastic as well I have those 901 copies, solid stuff). But these are the genuine Klipsch ones. No side tweeters either - they are on top and have the square magnets - making them the M series and all 100% Klipsch.
