Maybe when I refinish the cabinets I’ll add a window brace to stiffen up the cab and integrate a driver brace to it. These will eventually have radian drivers in them to match the rest of the system.

Idk how much harder 600-400 is. Or for that matter 800-600. The driver that comes with the 510 horn is suggested to xo at 800. No idea how much lower it will go then the suggested number. Smarter people on here can answer this. But with out an active xo and some serious no what your doing my guess 400 is to low. But guess is all it is.
From what I’ve read the k510 will perform down to around 500hz. It will not go low enough to be a viable option on a khorn bass bin which would need 400-450hz crossover. Something about collapsing polars etc. I haven’t quite grasped the meaning of all that. You would need someone like Roy or Chris to step in to give the science behind it.
Regarding the driver I believe the horn can extended the low and high freq capabilities. I base that on my minimal experience with jubilees. Neither k691 or radian 950 drivers that I have tried are rated for 450-20khz, but they perform it when attached to the k402.

I’ve had great luck crossing over the 510/heresy combo at 600hz. The heresy doesn’t have a problem keeping up with good peq using rew and the xilica. I think it’s important that you have good supporting gear to pull it off.

They will work great...We have used them in small cinemas....and homes. remember the depth...they are deeper than most home in ceiling speakers.
OH...Roy D engineered them.
Thank you sir. Any opinion if they should be mounted in the standard atmos position or they should be adjusted for the dispersion pattern? I have 9ft ceilings in that room.

Got some more work done. Haven’t had a chance to hook them up and set up the crossovers. I wasn’t planning on having biamped surrounds, so I still need to run a second wire in each wall.

From my experience audiophile is usually associated with snobbish behavior. Lots of turned up noses and scoffing. Classifying cheaper pieces of gear or brands as midfi. They consider their ears special or golden. I think it helps them justify wasting money on high end cables and overpriced gear. And when your normal ears can’t hear the difference it is only because your system is resolving enough.
Not my cup of tea at all. I like this place because most everyone is very down to earth. And their knowledge is vast.

And lastly I’m short 3 channels of amplification with only having the anthem 2ch and anthem 5ch amplifiers for the system. Excluding the k402s that is, I’m still using my tube amp for them(for now anyway). Biamping sure does eat up some amp channels and rack space. So to conserve rack space, for my future upgrade list, I’ll be replacing the 2ch anthem with my newly arrived Sunfire cinema grand 5ch. I’ve read it is a great amp. I expect so being a bob carver amp.

This is the project I will be doing when I get home from work next week. Im thinking this will be an excellent upgrade for HT theater use. And an even more dramatic upgrade for when I start going down the sacd/multi channel critical listening road. I picked up a second xilica. This time a xp2040. It will allow me to run the Cornwall surround active and biamped. Same way as I have been running my center channel and jubilees.

The k510/radian combination was a much bigger upgrade to the system than I expected topping my heresy. No more dialogue boosting or adding spl to the center speaker to make out what they saying in movies. This is the little heresy that could now!
Im eager to have the aesthetics of a belle of up front. And even more eager to have a fully horn loaded pro series front stage.

Can you get any response graphs out of the ease data?
Care to elaborate? I’ve looked at the dispersion patterns from the website. Not 100% sure how that will apply to my room.

My front zxpc are 17 x10 and 11 3/4 deep - long throw. Looked at diy audio reommend zxpc are18 x 10 only 8 inches deep, OP stated Polars are similar to a k 510. I am going to try and build a k 510 this weekend, if it does not work out I am going to try the short throws . Thanks for the help Bob and everyone.
Do you have a link to this thread?

Does anyone have any experience with these? I’m thinking they would be the best match for the rest of the pro gear in my living room. I wonder if I would have to be less spread out than Dolby recommends because the tighter dispersion pattern.

Why not a 510 in a home speaker yet?
