  1. Good recovery, Mav! Wink

    Can you do this?

That video was a fake. If I remember right this wing falling off stuff started a few years back when Bill Hemple lost a wing at an RC flying event. He flew it in knife edge and landed it amazing the crowd. Ever since people have been copying it. I even know guys who have there PC flight simulatos set up to loose a wing so they can practice landing with one wing.

  2. This is one of my model RC airplanes. It is a 1/4 scale YAK 54. The model has about a 7 foot wing span. I've been flying model airplanes since 1986 so I have a lot of experiance in my head.

As for flying real airplanes..... If my plans work out, I will be buying a real YAK 52 next spring. That model is a Russian military trainer. Do a google search and you will quicky see why I have been working so hard at getting one.

  3. Here was a man who changed the world for the better.

A few months back i rented a Les Paul documentuary from Netflix. Very interesting man. Just wait till his personal collection hits the Auction Block. He saved EVERYTHING. Absolutely Priceless.

  4. I too have known several people who commited suicide.

You alway wonder if you could have done anything else to stop them...... If only they would have said something........It just tears you up since you had NO IDEA it was coming.

My heart felt simpathy goes out to you, his family and friends. This is a tough time for a lot of people.

  5. Trey

It's hard to see past this, but things will turn out OK. I will keep you in my family's prayers.

I'm glad to hear the two of you are being civil about it for the kids. When I got divorced, my X, who served me the papers also, found new and excruciating ways to drag out our divoce for 2.5 years. She had the house and all of our other assets of value were locked. It sucked big time. The good side is that I learned who my real friends were in that ordeal.

  6. The key difference between Reference and Heritage is the midrange crossover point. Heritage midrange crossover point is 400 to 700 hz. Reference speakers crossover point is around 2000-2200 hz.

What this means in listening is that on Reference, there is a good portion of midrange material, most noticably the human voice, being reproduced by your woofers. When it is reproduced on a sqwaker horn, like a Heritage or Paladium, the sound is much cleaner.

  7. If any of you are going to be in the West Bend Area, my RC flying club is having an air show on June 27th at the Sky Ranch Airport.

It is usually a pretty big turn out with some of the best RC pilots from Milwaukee, Madison and the Fox Vally.

We are also going to be flying the missing man formation to honor our friend Don who lost his battle with cancer over the winter. Flying formation is a lot harder to do from the ground compared to inside the cockpit. We have been practicing and it should look great.

  8. Look into doing a LLC. I have set up several in my life. Cost is about $250 if you find a lawyer. If it is a single owner LLC to keep it simple, you can just use your wife's SSN and give your customer a W9.

I suggest you set up a company. Even though everything looks green and happy now, that can change. If your sued, you will wish you had corporate protection.

When ever I had side companies running, I would run my companies through my book keeper. That way he does the nessisary quarterly fileings for me as needed. The last time, he just had me adjust my working W4 as needed to keep the government happy and no big surprise tax bills or back child support to the X. I estimate he costs me about $750 a year. Well worth the lack of headache of doing it all myself.
