  1. The K48 has a little better spl, 107 I think. This allowed a bass response gain without increasing amplifier power. The K48 did require a little cabinet modification but the better low end response was worth the experiment. The K 43 simply was not what I was after.
  2. Jim I still have the K43's in the boxes. These were used momentarily in a La Scala mod and swapped out rapidly for a pair of K48K. Price 125 dollars each plus postage.
  3. While on the subject the K-43 serial 67-9116 0074 G1 woofers, ordered as replacements for the K-33 in the La Scala are Eminence or Electrovoice. Thanks for any information. Jerry
  4. Not reconed, have owned them since the factory shipped them. If it helps serial number K 43 15315 4 Ohm 67-9116 0074 G-1. I am now curious as to what these actually are. The shipping carton and sales invoice says K-43.
  5. While on the subject of the La Scala. Years ago I acquired a pair of birch La Scala's, (apparently the standard model) with AA crossovers but factory Klipsch carry handles on the sides. These do not seem retro fitted. Did Klipsch build such speakers to customer requests?
  6. Thanks for the reply. Always thought the 15 inch driver and heavier motor structure had a little to do with the weight difference.
  7. Question: The La Scala basic birch 1965 on speakers weighed what 127 pounds. Okay the same era basic birch non-split Industrial La Scala weighed 168 pounds. Same cabinet same trim but why the extra 41 pounds?
  8. Could just forget about marijuana prosecution and strongly enforce an "any music over 90 decibel law" .
  9. Stamped 11/91 dust caps measure 5 inches the serial # prefix, letter is G-1
  10. Dust caps are to small, dust caps are the size of the K-33. K- 43 dust cap did not carry the Klipsch logo. The K-43 has a 4 inch dust cap.
  11. Sorry, photo post limited but a few follow. These both read 3.4 ohms on a medium priced Gardner Bender meter, no blemishes, no finish scares even in mounting holes. As close to mint as available in these drivers.
  12. I have a pair of K-43 drivers, new in the original shipping boxes. Bought in 1991 for a La Scala base bin project, tested removed in favor of the K-48 K.
