  1. My last name is Disney. Diz has been a nickname applied to the males in my family for generations. The car in the avatar is a Rotus I built some years ago. A Rotus is like a Lotus 7 on steroids; 1800 pounds with a 3.5 Buick aluminum V8.

So, are you the great grandson of Walt Disney?

No. Walt Disney had no grandsons and he was my grandfather's age. You have to go back to Ireland for our families to link up.

  2. I'll check and see what is on there as far as signatures go. The vault is in Minn. MN right now thanks to Ace168516. Hopefully it will be loaded up with my Cornies on Monday or Tuesday and sent to me in IN. After that, the vault will be put away until someone else needs it. I will post a reminder occasionally letting folks know it's whereabouts. Ooooh. Can't wait!

We look forward to updates upon arrival. Your CWs should arrive in fine shape.

Perhaps a consolidated Cornwall vault thread can be created to explain the process, Forward Air, etc. and then be pinned below Hudson Valley Noah's thread about posting photos.

  3. Bruce-

There's no shortage of those who criticize the theory. The naysayers are not among those who've tried it.

There's a distinct shortage of those who've tried it who would go back to un-ported. No one is forced to try it.

People love to say that something with which they're unfamiliar is not as good as what they already know. That will never change.

  4. The capacitors in your CWs are old. New ones will restore the sound to as new. The cost is minimal.

Other "upgrades" could include new Crites tweeters, new squawker horns, etc,. The cost benefit ratio drops off rapidly after new caps.

Use the search function to find more threads about "upgrading" Cornwalls than you'll ever read.

  5. After many years with Comcast Internet, TV and VOIP phone, I dumped it and got AT&T U-Verse. So far, I couldn't be happier.

The picture is better, more channels, HD and DVR at each set and all for less money. If the Internet is slower (which I suspect is the case) it's insignificant. Large file downloads take no longer, IMO, than with Comcast.

Comcast was fast when it worked but too many times lately I had to use my AT&T buisness line to call Comcast to report no phone or Internet. In 10 years, the only problem with my AT&T lines (phone & fax) was noise on the lines from squirrels dining on the outside wire, which AT&T quickly fixed. The squirrel cooked up nicely.

  6. The photo shows a woofer in place. The "V" is the roof of the "dog house" and it's to the left in the photo. Obviously, the other woofer goes into the other cabinet. The view is from the bottom with the access cover removed.

The woofers in the photo were purchased from Bob Crites who was recommended to you in your other thread. Bob can help you with refreshing the networks.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your LaScalas!

  7. The exploded view seen many times on this forum (I think Marvel might have originated it) should help you understand. The woofer faces the back; it fires into the throat, the vertical rectangle. It's a bifurcated folded horn. The sound is split left and right and then directed forward past the "V" into the room.
