  1. I agree with Mr. McD.

    In the 70s, I owned 4 factory built plywood SKs (8 ohm) with aluminum squawkers and T-35s. The crossovers were pitiful, but the speakers were OK; as good as SKs got. Nevertheless, I'd be reluctant to pay much for used SKs today, due to the likelihood that they're owner built and poorly built.

    Good used Khorns are a better value and less of a shot in the dark.

  2. Is there a red line (like from a marker) near one of the leads? If so, that's the positive lead.

    Failing that, at least make certain they're wired the same. That way you' ve got a 50% chance of getting it right. If you're certain they're the same polarity, hook them up and listen for a while. Then switch the leads to both tweeters and listen some more. If one way sounds better than the other, stay with that way,

    I feel for you.

    You gave her a good life. Had she stayed a wanderer, she'd have met a similar fate years ago and not benefitted from the love you gave her these many years.
