  1. I find it curious/interesting that citrus fruits come in season at the height of cold/flu season.

Darn near cold this AM. Low 40's/high 30's.

Overdid it yesterday. Not moving very well this AM. Have things I would like to do.

May need to realign my agenda.  Turning myself to medicated goo sounds like a plan.

  2. I embrace taking a nap.

kinda half keeping an eye on the phone, won't hear it.  Unless it interrupts a quiet passage.

I'm running the vacuum, too. Trying to catch up with domestics.  House has been upside down for 2 weeks. Wife was home the week previous to her trip to IL. And she was home for "Founders/Colombus" Day of whatever it's called now.... Worked Tue and Weds.

  3. Mornin' All

Have fresh made coffee this AM. A little fresh out.

Some JeffBeck on. Can't do that when she's here....  she would be trying to sleep

Wife called. She's having a good time. I can't say I'm not enjoying her absence, though I am seeming to miss the antagonism.

What was not so great was that by the third song, the whole audience was standing, and they kept standing without a break until the end of the show.

    you mention PinkFloyd.

it was at one of their shows, that they stopped mid-set to tell folks to sit ... so the folks behinds them could see.

convincing folks to sit at a PF show isn't too tough. They're pretty stoned [for the most part] and are open to suggestion.... lol

  5. I was going to pop for tickets to a Beatles tribute band, for the wife. Things come up and I got off the hook. No idea what they cost. $50+, I imagine.

There are reasonably priced shows. I saw LittleFeat at the county fair, for the price of admission to the fair. Santana used to play it.

Almost impossible to get good seats the minute the tickets go on sale unlike the good old days

kinda makes ya want to "bean" these enterprising individuals [scalpers], doesn't it?

  7. I used to go to concerts.  Like @DizRotus, it's hard to enjoy the show knowing how much it cost.... and then there is the sound systems.

I balked at GeoHarrison, BillyPreston and RaviShankar costing $25. That was a while back... duh!

  8. I found good Mexican food in Indiana.

I applied a little acoustic treatment to the living room.  We have/had a pseudo oriental rug in the bedroom. It went to the LR. Can't really tell that there is a big difference. Wife likes it, from a decorator sense.

    wb,

your dog's high fibre diet reminds me of an infomercial

1] "Does your dog poop too much?"

that is just stupid. If a dog poops at all, it's too much

    there is another infomercial

    "Do you poop enough?"

I have a solution for folks that suffer both...  eat your dog's food and give the dog your plate.

would prolly result in a premature death of the dog.

  9. I get to "stay home" for few days... Got wife under way. Dropped her off at the airport this AM. I was proud of her. We got out of the house when I wanted... 5AM

    Pick her up Tuesday.

Got a bag of Mexibeans at the store, yesterday.  I'm happy

Wife is happy. They got her a big bag[10lb or more] of Basmati rice. Comes in the burlap bag.

I can remember certain things from the 70s

those airplanes were mid/late 60's. I preferred the ones with the plastic clip that held the wings. Those allowed for more experimenting. We built biplanes and played around with swept wing... Kids!?!

My 15 year old son recently told me one of his inspirational bloggers commented that if you were to produce anything nostalgic that has gone out of production it would make money.

I bought “Thrills” gum not too long ago, for only the second, and last time in my life.

“Gold Nuggets” gum was a hit with the kids though!

I wonder if you could take out a drone with a Jet-Stream?!

I'm sure you can.  I have some [now old] know-how with R/C. I was building drones and 2oz helicopters before the electronics made it too easy

Airplanes want to fly. Adding a little power will keep them in the air.  Helicopters have a very poor glide ration.

  12. They are great for out here. Weather and traffic are rarely a problem. I know that they have saved me ton of money in speeding tickets. When I was in Indiana, there was never enough open road.

They don't do well in hills and turns. They are on the throttle at the wrong time/s.

But it's more than fast shifts, it is about control.  I have never seen an automatic that knows when to downshift at the right time in the right place.

you can say the same about cruise control.  It never anticipates, only react.

CVT.  Bletch.  I mostly see them on lower end small vehicles.  Have you ever driven one?

4000 miles on my  trip to IN last year.  They take some getting used to.  They are not a high performance item, agreed.  Can't argue with 45mpg at highway speed. I wasn't the guy doing 55 in a 75.  This Nissan has simulated shifts, if that makes you feel better. It did all right thru Ruidoso/HondoValley. It did downshift. Kept up with traffic.

My real complaint about the car is a stupid one. The armrests are useless at best. The one in/on the door with bruise your elbow. Hard as... I had to put a towel on it. The other one.... in name only. 6inches long and an inch wide.

wish I still had my '71 Datsun510.  That was a fun car.

  15. Agenda for the day

    go to the store.

Almost out of drugs. Tobacco and coffee beans. Wonder what we have for a selection. They're all good. I'm not crazy about dark roasts and tend to steer away from FrenchRoast and CapeHorn. CapeHorn is a DARK roast and if you are in the mood, is excellent

Have to get the wife to the airport tomorrow AM....  We need to be out of the house at 5AM.She changes planes in Dallas.... to a regional carrier. I suggested she get assistance getting from A - B there. Only an hour between flights. Last time I was there, faced a similar deal. And I was most happy for being escorted. If I had been a healthy young OJ Simpson, I would not have made the connection.

wife asked if I wanted her to bring anything back...

"No. Anything I want would be too big, heavy or electronics".  do ya think the airlines would be OK toting a pair of KHorns?

  16. That is cool. Light, quick and good looking

I participated in some more substantial pieces.

The guy I worked for, did his creations in rebar, expanded metal and stucco.

if you have "an eye", it is easy. He made it look simple
