Just received an Onkyo 696 today and I am pretty sure it does the svideo conversion.

HornEd, I'm glad you were equally impressed as I was. I am just a Very Happy SVS customer. Tom (TV) is the infamous Sub-Human, Me just a mere mortal and true believe now! I bought two of their 20-39cs subs with the 600 watt amp offered at the time. The Samsom 700 should be even better and quieter than the Fidek amp. These subs will rattle your teeth!! If you want to read a ton of posts, from equally happy SVS'ers, make sure to visit www.hometheaterforum.com If you have hours of time to spend reading... Do a search on SVS in the Home Theater Hardware section. I have a complete Klipsch Reference speaker package, RF-3,RC-3 and the RS-3 surrounds. These with the SVS package is a killer combo. Klipsch is also coming out with a new line of Reference speakers and subwoofers shortly so that may be worth a listen also. Good luck with what you end up purchasing and let us know of your results. Go to their web site and read some of the reviews there for SVS subs, it may really surprise you who have reviewed their subs. If you want some truly impressive bass try a package from them. I'm using the Toshiba SD6200 with great results. Any reason you are not considering players from Toshiba?

Do you still have the original box and related packing to ship it in?

Go for that 20-39cs also. You will love it.

I have two of the 20-39CS's and I can tell you I am one very happy camper.I'm also using a complete reference setup that I'm also impressed with. I will be waiting to hear the new line of subs from Klipsch too. Hearing good things about them.

I must agree! I have had two of the 20-39CS's with 600 watts running for a few weeks now and I'm still amazed every time I hear them.
