  1. If you aren't watching, you missed it. Jay's monologue was a tribute to Johnny Carson, and he did a good job. Right now , it's all clips from the Tonight Show.
  2. Yup, that looks like the Brownsville area all right. Good deer country.
  3. My condolences, Lori Anne, and I hope you find your wonderful speakers a good home.
  4. Tex, looky here... http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=60293&sessionID={9FC791BC-437F-4780-AAE7-B5A9E034CF54} KLF 20s FS!!! Edit...Never mind, pick up in RI
  5. Greetings from Big D, Tex. Many here will say the timbre will not match up. That you should get something from the klf series to match. While I certainly agree that matching speakers would be the ideal situation, I was not willing to pay what the market demanded for an Academy which would probably have trouble keeping up with my Cornwalls anyway. Also didn't have the room for a Cornwall center, so I get myself an RC-7 from Tweeter when they quit carrying Klipsch for $550. No, it doesnt match my Cornwalls perfectly, but it will dang sure keep up with 'em, no problemo. I guess I have become accustomed to it or am losing even more of my hearing, because I hardly noticte the timbre mismatch anymore. Just my two cents worth. Flame away!!

The camera cuts to Johnny who has this look of horror on his face and says, "Oh no....you're not gonna do what I think you're gonna do are you?" The pie throwing that ensued is some of the funniest stuff I've seen. No one on that set was immune. Doc, the camera guys, Ed, everyone was either throwing or getting hit. To this day I truly believe that Johnny had no clue. ----------- Tom, Too funny! I would give good cash for video of that show, because not only was I a huge fan of Johnny's, I grew up watching the three stooges daily, as I'm sure many of you did. Ahhh, the good old days.
  7. I am forced to agree with Indy & Gary and the rest. If what he did in Ray isn't acting, then I dont know what is. He sure as heck had me convinced. Pretty incredible. Of course, I may have a some what slanted view, as he is one of my old home town boys. Jamie Foxx has worked his a$$ off to get to where he is, with no free rides or handouts along the way. Just hard work. I think he deserves it. And I feel this is only the beginning for him, with many more good things to come. Good for him.
  8. Heck no, bud. My skin is a lot thicker than THAT!!

And I think that is one of the things I have missed most through the years since his retirement. One class act. May he rest in peace.
  10. Oscarsear, Thanks for that address. I am going to try some of their other products!
  11. You call them "not worth a freakin grand" now.
  12. Hey, look at that, I'm now insane.
  13. I'll give it a try. And I do like 'em hot. Lateley I've been using a product I get at my local grocers. It's called "Pain is Good Jamaican Bloody Mary Mix, Batch # 114." Got a picture of a screamin Jamaican on the label. This is the ONLY store bought mix I have ever used that I didn't have to doctor the heck out of. Anyone else ever tried it?

    My HT

    Very classy setup.
  15. MrMcgoo, that's pretty much what I got from reading the manual. I want to thank you for all the info and advice. I am in HT heaven.
  16. Kenratboy - No thanks, have one. When I get rid of it, I'm going with SVS PB12-plus/2 or PB12-Ultra/2. Then I will have some serious bass, although the JBLs go high in spl, I want something that digs a little deeper. DANG,Kenratboy got him some Klipsch!! CONGRATULATIONS BUD!!!! I assume now you "get it". Proud for you, man. If you haven't guessed, I have been away for a while...my loss. Orangepeel - Thanks, yes it is actually unbelievable, the difference in sound. The amp was a demo, but they had the box, owners manual, and the glass base sitting in the storeroom. Darn thing is perfect, and I get the full 5 year factory warranty!! Considering that four years ago I had a 27" TV, a two channel Pre Amp & Amp, CD player & Cassette deck, and two Cornwalls I guess I ain't doin' too bad. This dam hobby is like hitting the proverbial crack pipe. Once it has you, it's all over.
  17. "it seems the more juice you put to the Heritage the more realistic and dynamic they get. Gotta love it" You got that right buddy. Un Freakin Real. Gotta go to work. Catch yall from there in a couple of hours.
  18. Mr McGoo and mbajner.....concerning the afore mentioned hiss. It is non existant on my Sunfire amp. I removed the grills and literally put my ear in the midrange and tweeter horns with the entire system turned on, and nothing. So, I am extremely satisfied with my Amp and will be looking into a no BS pre/pro to go along with it when finances allow. Thanks to all for their comments. PS...MrMcgoo, I did in fact get the glass base with the amp. Very classy.
  19. LOL Thanks Tom, but as long as old Rudolph doesn't move, I think he will be OK.
  20. Well, I just couldn't wait until Tuesday. I should have taken a nap today, as I have to work four 12 hr nights in a row starting tonight, but I didn't think I would be able to sleep, so I did what any audio nut with new gear does, hooked it up!! After calibrating everything with the trusty rat shack meter, I watched the first 40 min or so of T3, which I think has some pretty good sound effects. WOW. It was really amazing. I don't really know how to describe it other than it seems so much "smoother" than before. And LOUD. With the receiver, I never went past -10, because it started sounding harsh. With the Sunfire, I played the crane chase scene at -5 and it sounded so good. Smooth is the only word that comes to mind. Just smoooooth and clear as a bell. The meter was averaging about 100 db at this volume setting during most of the chase, with some peaks coming in at over 106, which pegged the meter when set on the 100 setting. I can't wait until Tuesday. I will get off at 5:00 am and come home and sleep 4-5 hrs. Then it's Lord of The Rings time. I have played FOTR so many times in the last three years, I just know it's going to be like hearing for the first time with this Sunfire. God bless Bob Carver.
  21. WOW!!!! I just got the mains connected, which was easy because I was already running them with a 150 WPC outboard amp. Put in the Travelin Wilburys CD and let her rip. My Cornwalls have NEVER sounded this good. I do not have the most discriminating ear, due to a life of shooting all types of guns, long and short, and jockeying around the farm on old Farmall tractors for so many years in my youth. But I am here to tell you, I can hear a BIG difference. And if I can hear it, then it has to be a VERY noticeable difference. I am one happy guy right now!!! Off to Rat Shack I go to get cables to hook up the center and rears. Life is good!
  22. This was supposed to be on the first post...I'm new at this picture stuff.
  23. Back panel. I will not have time to hook this beast up untill probably Tuesday, so I'll let you know what I really think then.
