I like to install threaded inserts for use with black machine screws when doing the woofer door on Khorns. Just something I prefer I guess.

I normally start by restoring the labels to like new as the very first step and put them on last as the finishing touch.

Some of you may have seen my thread in the "lounge" regarding the loss of our home to a fire back on 07/05/2017. Included in the loss was a pair of 1970 Klipschorns that I was in the process of restoring to their former glory AND enclosing the backs. I never shared any of the restoration photos so I thought I would do so now. I do not have many photos as I had not gotten that far.

Just not possible Schu. Too much damage not visible in the pictures. Not tooting my own horn but If I could not bring them back to life nobody could. I was doing a restoration and enclosed backs on this particular pair. Never shared pictures, etc. in a thread. I will do so in Tech. and Mods.

Unfortunately, I think this probably marks the end of builds, refurbs and restorations for me as well. Lost all my tools and supplies, waaay too much to replace to continue at my previous level. Time to sit back and enjoy what I have.

Nothing I could do with them Schu except toss them. My third set of Khorns since my Klipsch love affair began in '73.

We are tickled to death to say the least. Due to the limited rental market in this area(it's been screwed up since UC Merced was completed)we have not only had to reside in a different house but a different town.

Just thought I would let you fellas know. Seems like it has been forever, but only fourteen days and counting until we move back in! Cannot wait to hear music again!

I will edit my post above to add "IF DONE PROPERLY". Like anything else it depends on ones ability to carry out a task in a competent and proper manner. IF one cannot then yes, travel down another road.
