Been messing around with speaker placement. My set up is: Rp 504c Rp8000f SVS 1000pro Denon 4400 The picture looks awkward but cell phones never really capture the moment. The towers are 8ft apart and 8ft from the listening area. They are also 2 feet away from the back and side walls. The sub and center channel are 14 inches away from the rear wall. The room is a rectangle but the ceiling is shaped like a barn as it's above the garage. Meaning the center is 7 foot but the edges slope. I've been trying to optimize the sound. Everything has always sounded great but my knowledge of placement is limited. I've been doing some research and I don't have the equipment to measure. Should I pull the center out more? I think the sub is good since it's ports are in the front. I just moved things around and I have some wiggle room. Just wonder what recommendations anyone has . I had the Sony 1080. I ran polk signature speakers with it. At near reference volumes everything sounded great but at lower volumes I always had to turn up the center. I since replaced my AVRs with Denon. I have a 504c which is paired with 8000fs which sound amazing. I'd say I always had issues with dialogue with all AVRs I had even my Denons unless I cranked it up. The great thing about the Denon is Dynamic Audio. Granted it adds some compression but it balances out the dialogue for every day listening and when I'm watching a movie I just turn it off and crank it up. I have these speakers as well in a 5.1 set up powered by a denon 4400. I plan on adding 4 atmos speakers to the mix at some point and I'm thinking of adding an external amp just for the front stage. How much power should these guys get? Sent from my KB2007 using Tapatalk

I would at least try out the Rp260s as the fronts. You got to be a little curious on the sound difference. Honestly the surrounds don't do a whole lot in a lot of sources. Can't say I've heard the R series but my rp 8000fs are amazing Sent from my KB2007 using Tapatalk

I think you're a little misinformed. That receiver isn't 175watts per channel. Most ratings are for one or two channels driven. If that is 2 channels that means when you're listening to anything in stereo that's the power rating. Most receivers have one power amp. It distributes based on the needs of function. So even when your watching a movie let's say 5.1 audio your maybe getting 80-100 Watts of power per channel. Realistically that's in heavy scenes of audio. When you add more speakers that power rating drops even more. That receiver is a 7.2 meaning 7 speakers and 2 subs. I believe it supports Amos which also means it can be used in a 5.2.2 setup. 5 speakers, 2 subs and 2 Atmos speakers. With that being said you shouldn't be concerned with the power rating as most receivers with in their respective classes share similar power ratings. 125 Watts vs 100W isn't going to give you any noticable difference. Let's look at the Denon 3500vs4500. The power rating is a 25w difference. You would never notice the difference in terms of power. But the 4500 has extra on board processing that produces a cleaner more robust sound. If you move up to the 6500 it's kind of the same.... Very minimal increase in power but better sound reproduction and more channels. You need to test a couple receivers from different brands to find which sounds best to you as each brand has different sound signatures. Once you pick a brand you need to decide what features you need/ or may want in the future. My main point in all this is ignore power ratings. It's not what's going to make your speakers sound better unless you have really hard to drive speakers, which you don't.... They're Klipsch. I would however get a receiver with preouts just to eliminate buyers remorse. At least you have the option to add amps later. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk

I have the 8000f/504c combo and I'm overly impressed. The soundstage is wide and seamless. I love how clear everything is at low levels and high. My room is about the same as yours with 12 ft ceilings in an open floorplan. I get great sound filling everything. What are you going to use to power them? I have a Sony 1080 that I'm going to replace soon. I think at 5ch output is about 70 Watts. 2ch is around 100w. I have a pair of 8000fs. I replaced some Polk signature s50s with them. I can't comment on the 280f but I can say that the 8000s look really nice and sound really natural. I think the difference between them is a new Tweeter and a tatrix port. It's not just the Tweeter that's vented. The whole cabinet is. Now compared to the Polk s50 which has 5 inch woofers they actually put out more bass. Must be something with the power port design. The Klipsch definitely sound better in my opinion. Sounds just seem natural and detailed at all volumes. These are the first speakers I've owned that I can listen at low volumes and still hear everything.
