  1. Hello All,

I am listing my Altec 846b Valencia's.  They are original.  The previous owner build the risers they sit on.  He also build new foam surrounds for it.

They are find condition for their age.  Their are some scratches and signs of age but I think they look very good vs many of the others i've seen over the years.

Sale is local but if buyer wants to arrange UShip or Pony Express (I am ignorant to these processes) I am open to that idea.

I have plenty of photos that I can share.

Here is a link to the craigslist ad in DFW with photos galore.

  2. I've not called all of them, but I have called a few.  I actually went to Star Power and they had Heresy IV's, but nothing else from the line.  There are just a couple actual HiFi stores in DFW that have demo rooms.  From what I found none had the speakers mentioned.

I believe in DFW there are like 25 or so that are Heritage dealers.  Many are Best Buy Magnolias.  At one point Klipsch was advertising come here the Cornwall's at one of the Star Powers but I couldn't make the demo unfortunately.

I will probably dedicate a good part of tomorrow to calling, but most of the leads I got on the Klipsch site were not promising which is why I threw this out to the community here.

  3. I'm not sure what forum to post this in.  Moderators if this is the wrong spot please move the post accordingly.

I want to hear Cornwall IV's and Forte IV's.  I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  I don't know of any local dealers that have them on hand.  If anyone could direct me to a local dealer that has either on hand I would greatly appreciate it.

If not if there is a member who would be kind enough to let a fellow hifi enthusiast stop in for a quick listen I would greatly appreciate it.  I have a new space and I have been considering Cornwall IV, Forte IV or Chorus.  I think I am going to go stick with the current production models unless I come across a deal on Chorus which I don't expect to happen.

    Thanks!

I am not a big Cornwall fan. I’m a huge Chorus fan, both versions. I listened to the new Cornwalls at a dealer a few months ago and thought they sounded excellent. Even though they were powered by a 7-channel AVR.

I've never heard the Chorus.  what about it do you prefer over the Cornwall IV?

I am in the DFW area.  I am sure there is a dealer somewhere around there with Cornwall IV's but I don't know about it.  I found a dealer with Heresy's but I haven't heard any of the newer larger heritage speakers.  No Forte IV or Cornwall IV.

The two Chorus offerings really intrigue me.  I would love a Chorus I with the midrange horn of the Chorus II.

I'm not a thumping bass guy nor do I need a sparkling top end.  I love a GIANT open midrange and enough on top and bottom to make it believable.

Wondering if a Chorus might do enough of what the Cornwall IV does but on more of a blue collar budget.

  5. Hello,

I am looking to get some ampsandsound gear.  I am wondering if any forum member is looking to move their gear up the road.

I am interested in any of their amps for speakers & potentially the Kenzie to be used as a preamp.  If anyone has any for sale let me know.  If there are any forum members who own any of the ampsandsound gear, I would love to trade thoughts over dm/pm.  I would love to hear about your experience with their amps.

Hopefully this message gets some interest.

    John
