  1. I have a Bell'O AT306. It arrived about a year ago and remains in its box due to an illness which has prevented me from tearing down and reassembling my system (or doing much of anything else that requires lifting or exertion.) I expect to regain my full strength this summer and I'll go ahead with the rack transfer and may also swap a component or two..

  2. If you do not have to have consecutive serial numbers to enjoy your music look for Heresy B stock offerings. I have two year old B stock Heresies that looked perfect (at least to me.) I was going to Cornwalls but due to a cramped living situation, I'm looking more at H4s. As for the price - it can be negotiated with the seller. I know I acquired mine new and sealed for a lower price than I have seen mentioned on here and I could probably get a 100% recoup of my investment if I decided to sell. My B stock box will have a pink tag.  With a sub, they do fine for me.

  3. There is some truth that older models have a more desirable sound. Heat build up caused certain components in the older switched units to fail, tho not in your case. If you cant get it fixed locally - there is a seller on ebay who I think went by (or goes by) stpeteshepherd who repairs them or will sell you an older one modified to improve cooling and with upgraded components that typically fail. There is no money to be saved as the repaired and modded amp units are more expensive than newer complete sets. He has 100% feedback and 3,000 + transactions so no worries there for quality. Nostalgia has a price and it depends on availability.

  4. Getting it to market so late in the year likely will crimp holiday sales. I fear the price will lead to them eventually being sold out of the backs of trucks or warehouse doors as seconds or blems, the way the H3 glut was managed. I guess it's nice to refresh but selling at 3K i think bumps up against the limit of what consumers beyond the faithful will pay. Some say you will still need a sub to get the full range. Not sure what is gained is worth the outlay.

  6. Stock price hit a one year low yesterday of $3.50 a share and share price has declined 37% in the past year during a time of near unprecedented prosperity for the US business community. VOXX now has a market cap of $84 million.  The stock hit an intraday high of $6.25 on July 10, 2018.

  7. I would like to see Klipsch prosper and for it to have a corporate parent capable of providing the resources to swim in a crowded lake. However, I continue to be baffled at the lack of retail presence in major population centers.  Granted, a lot of product seems to be sold via guerrilla marketing and/or by heavily discounted mail order.  Maybe that is by design.

  8. Following another VOXX International Corporation poor quarterly performance, and its stock price down sharply, some analysts recently questioned if it's time to consider liquidating the company and selling off profitable assets as the breakup value could exceed the current $3.60 share price. This is quite the quarterly earnings transcript. Would urge you to read it all. What happens on Wall Street can impact what happens in Hope, like it or not.

  9. A plate amp will power the sub box, but additional amplification and crossovers will be required for the external speakers and the audio control pod system will not function. If it were me and I was set on that system (they are getting harder and harder to find) I would spring to have it repaired or acquire another one. Most of the autopsies on these traced the failure to bad caps, cooked resistors or a combination thereof and the occasional failed power transformer. If you opt for a plate amp solution to keep the sub, you are free to pick and choose your other components.

  10. There is a reliable vendor on eBay with whom I have no connection who had offered a repair service for these. He can be found by searching for stpeteshepherd . His pricing is average, but he has 100% feedback for more than 3,000 transactions. The issue with the early 2.1 failures and later, the 4.1, was heat. But it is still some of the best sound you can get for that amount of money. I have a 14 year old 2.1 at home that has never missed a beat and I have another one that is fried.
