  2. Klipsch R115 SW, Have already replaced the plate amp with an SPL 150 plate amp, and you can have the working plate amp it replaced. The only issue with the old one is the trigger doesn’t work so you’d have a backup amplifier. There was a known issue with the R115sw plate amp but no issues with the other parts. Buy with confidence knowing you have a brand new amplifier and a backup should that ever fail. $500.

  5. I’m getting a set of KLF 30’s, KLF 20’s, KLF c-7 and a mirage sub. Anyone run a full KLF surround system like this?

Either thinking of replacing my Chorus 1, Forte 2, kv3 dual spl120’s or selling it if my wife dislikes mahogany.

if not I’ll sell KLF set as a package. I’m not disappointed with my current setup, wondering if anyone else has that setup and can jump in. Not sure if they have a baffle rattle till they show up.

may be open to trade asswell.

$1500 for oak chorus2?   thats high end ebay prices...

just for reference, a pair of oak chorus in excellent condition in the same general area were just listed for $800,  i spoke to the guy & could have got them for $750 but timing didnt work out.

i sold 2 sets of oak chorus 2 recently, one without risers to a friend for $750 & the other mint condition pair with risers for $900.  by all means get as much as you can for them, but i think $1500 might be a little optimistic for oak chorus2 unless 100% mint with original boxes & the right timing for the right buyer which may take awhile to find.

Next time you find a mint set for 750 I’d scoop em up! They’re expensive near me

Best excerpt from a post here ever!!!!!! I agree, I’ve got a setting (pure direct Marantz pm8004) for super critical listening, outside of that I wanna jam for extended time periods.

  8. Great job with the restore!!! I’ve got a set from 83 and they sound excellent. I had an ST-70 and that thing had a thick lush midrange, nice highs that weren’t biting, but I couldn’t get the bass to have the punch and attack I liked until I got a 2 channel Parasound amp, once I did though the bass was kicking like Kung Fu Jones!

----------glue is not appropriate till you staple   the fabric  -

a good upholsterer can do that job ------using a staple gun and a bit if glue -

    1) --you have to staple 1 side , the longest first  at the top firsthand  ------  make sure your grille fabric is centered-then use a lot of staples so that force can be applied to the bottom without pulling out the staples holding the  fabric ---- -this is your most important step -

       2)   stretch it  very tight and staple the bottom  till there is no sag    -then do the same across 1 side at a time ---------stretch  to the left   ,  staple ------stretch to the right ----staple -

What type of board do you use? I used backer board and it was a bit too flimsy

If you’d like to PM me that’s cool, someone said they may take it on, but I’d love to see the results you’ve had. Would love to also do either my Chorus or forte 2 to match for HT. Really wish I could get a super dope tutorial on how to get them perfect. Perhaps I failed because the material I was using wasn’t made for grills.
