  1. Kain, Pictures are on the Klipsch site along with descriptions and comparison charts.
  2. My dealer set up a set of RB75's in the bookshelf showroom over the weekend. Can't wait to get in and have a listen!
  3. The "holes" : The new bookshelf series are front-ported. It gives more flexibility in locating them, like in enclosed bookshelves, or close to rear walls. The old series are rear-ported, creating some strange acoustic effects when they are smothered from behind.
  4. From the input of the Klipsch faithful, I have chosen this as my planned upgrade path: I currently use RB5's for front mains, RC3 center, RSW-12 sub and Blose acoustimas for rear surrounds, driven by an H/K 520. When the new ref's come out, I plan to upgrade the front mains to RB75's and move the RB5's to the rear surrounds (Blose going to the den!). I'll also move the RC3 to rear center, replacing it with an RC7 in the front. I'll have to add an amp to drive the rear center or just wait for my electronics upgrade. Next year I want to upgrade the H/K to Rotel separates and maybe jump into the DVD-A/SACD fray. I think this will eventually be a very good system...
  5. I accidentally posted this in the "Technical Questions" forum. I think it should have been posted here instead ... I have a space problem that prevents me from using RB-5's in an upright position for L/R front mains. I could lay them on their sides, but I'm worried about imaging because of the 60x90 horn dispersion pattern. (I already checked out the idea of rotating the horns, but the screw holes don't line-up when they're turned 90 degrees - Klipsch confirmed this.) Here's what I'm thinking - What about using a pair of RC-3's for front mains since that speaker is already set-up horizontally? I will use an RC-3 for center in HT. That would give me an all RC-3 front soundstage. I don't want to give up anything musically, as I greatly enjoy 2-channel music as well. Are the RC-3's musical, or have they been developed primarily for dialogue? I will have them set "small" crossed at 80Hz with an RSW-12 sub, all driven with an H/K AVR520. I saw in another thread that Deang used all RC-7's and seemed initially to like it, but he later changed to RF-7's for some reason (upgraditis or not satisfied?).

They seem heavy for most mounts and they need to be set away from the walls because of the rear ports.
  8. Again, thanks for the feedback. I'll re-think based on your input. Just trying to draw a line somewhere. I started out looking at JBL "S" series and have worked my way up to Klipsch. My next investment needs to be for a tree that grows greenbacks.
  9. I hear ya about the amp'd channels issue. Only 5 is OK for now, but I'll have to get a separate amp in the future for 6.1 or 7.1 (alas, another upgrade path). I have been impressed so far with the sound from the recever driving even my cheapo speakers. I can't wait to hear it with the Klipsch. Thanks for the feedback.
  10. m00n, Are you satisfied with the AVR520, the 7's and the RSW-12? You have the set-up I am moving toward (although I may wimp out and do the RF-5's, RC-3 and RS-3's). I already have the same H/K receiver and expect a good match with the Klipsch speakers. Troublemaker
