  1. @MicroMara you and your family/friends are on my prayer list.
  2. that's not so tough... ya have gravity working for ya. The pisser is having extra up there...especially if you had to lug it up. I see that there is a claim the CBD rich marijuana may be useful in lessening vulnerability to covid... Almost moving now. Fresh coffee and a light breakfast - 3 scrambled eggs, toast and sausage. Bread is making dumb question to egg eaters How many eggs do you consider a serving? I typically eat 3 or 4. Particularly scrambled. I got some funny looks when I went thru 2 orders of Eggs Benedict. Maybe because I am quite thin... I dunno
  3. Last time I did any roofing, I had to pay a guy to get the #90 felt up to the roof. I could pick the rolls OK... getting them up the ladder ... No. There isn't enough of me to counter-balance the weight
  4. I'm familiar with the smell. Curious that we get that same smell when we light the woodstove for the first time of the season...
  5. my sisters had the early Beatles lps... They had Jerry and the Pacemakers and the English invasion...Paul Revere and the Raiders.. Herman's Hermits my first purchase was Jimi Hendrix Are You Experienced? or might have been the Steppenwolf with Born to be Wild....
  6. unwinding in the doghouse. Streaming JeckBeck Live+. This little system isn't too bad to listen to. Doesn't take a lot to fill a 12 X 12 room....I guess. From the main listening position, it thumps pretty good. Nothin' exciting happening here. Sunny and warm. I almost feel sorry for the weather forecasters. They get excited about a few clouds and some wind. The astronomical events that they cover gives them something t talk about. My mind went into the gutter when I saw the "Man Lift" thread.... random association I watch tractor pulls on tv.... There is/was a tractor "named" Vi- Agri
  7. Cool this AM... that is normal gonna be entertaining my chef friend sometime today. Her visit is a bit different for the wife... she is wife's admin assistant. I'll keep the topic/s of convo away from work, if possible. Oh... found a possible reason for my 2 "Sorry, wrong number" calls from Raytheon. Wife was mentioning that there is a person in town that works for them and their phone # is very similar to ours... a transposition error would get us instead of them. That they might have called me on purpose is still a possibility, being as I was doing aerial robotics at the time.
  8. something a little more on the mellow side... from my youth
  9. can't say that I know... but, I do know how many times it took to remember that only half the lp is on each side... and how stupid I felt after thinking, "I remember this album having more songs"
  10. I'll leave that alone I meet 3 of those, in spades
  11. we strive to achieve this condition...sans agitation that requires an expenditure of energy
  12. but our r/h is considerably lower than most. If it's over 30%, it is high. Not like a steam bath. You can feel cool by sitting in the shade. That and the temp in the sun is about 40`+ the temp in the shade. You do need to drink water and maybe take salt tabs if you are working hard. Most folks that work outdoors usually start at daybreak and are done early afternoon... then it's time for siesta. And a cold one. I was doing some roofing, we started 5AM and quit when the shingles turned to goo... around 1PM.
  13. too hot? not really. Unseasonably warm? yes. It's behaving like June -- still we leave the windows open at night, and close them when the outside temp gets warmer than in... so the house stays cool. The "shorter" days help, too... otherwise it would be 110`. That IS warm. I'm doing much better since quitting that supplement - even though the Drs at the hospital poo-pooed the notion that it was the problem. It may not be the problem, but, I'm not one [much] for coincidence... Have an appt to get the read on my stress test. I'm guessing it's not that bad or they would have booked me a room.
  14. ... speaking of naked they're doing a Naked and Afraid a few miles north of here. gonna need some serious editing the A-10's, hunters, prospectors, illegals and BP. they start filming today. Tried to get them in a relatively "fat" season. Too bad we didn't get any rain this year. They will have to eat mesquite beans and prickly pear pads and whatever bugs [I hear scorpions are edible] they can find. Water will be problematic. The cattle tanks are dry or too thick to drink and too thin to plow... ... and then the weather. It is getting cool [mid/low 50's] at night, and still pushing 100` during the day.
  15. They used to play the mid-west a lot. Saw them in SouthBend IN. Rather surprised to see that they are still together. Brought up the latest release [to be had] on spotify... music is consistent with Masque and Leftoverture not like VanillaFudge... they went pop.
  16. with the fire and smoke and Steve's lungs.... hope he/they are OK just when the fires [seem] be letting up. Like our 100` days. It has been 100` or over for more than 3 months ---100 and some odds days and counting
  17. folks ask why I wear a sarong... I tell them regular clothing doesn't accommodate my "physique". Let them noodle on that.
  18. didn't Manfred Mann have an album "The Roaring Silence"?
  19. Need someone to stir the pot, eh? Missed being able to comment on things.
  20. since I was "out" for a couple months, I missed out on wishing the weather worn folks in the paths of all the rain well... you were in my thoughts. We're into record number of 100`+ days... rain? hardly any here. Tucson got 1.62 inches during the "monsoon". Just 0.03 inch short of all time low. Normal is around 6 inches. We would have had more 100`+ days had it not been for the smoke from all of the fires. It looked overcast for a couple of weeks. Didn't have to mow the lawn this year. back to heating and cooling type weather.... 50's in the AM and mid/high 90's in the afternoon. @Ceptorman Bill, you still considering LA? after this summer, you may be able to rule out fire as a reason not to go... there is still mudslides and earthquakes, though. I know we have car people here... there was an ad running where they showed a guy driving a Corvette... mysteriously, halfway thru the ad, it turned into a Karman Ghia and back to a Vette. I thought that was kinda funny the kid wanted a sarong, so she could be like Grandpa... I had enough material to make us matching ones.Hers wasn't big enough to make it all the way around her, so I sewed a patch of material with stripes running horizontal instead of vertical... I accidentally made a woman's style one for her. No, I didn't know there was men's and women's. Wife sez, men's have the same pattern all around, where women's have a counter-colored "stripe".
  21. scorpions will crawl into dark places ... shoes, rumpled towels, clothing the other morning -- early early in the AM, I got up to go to the bathroom, stepped in cat puke... Went to the kitchen to get a rag to clean it up... the sink was covered in pissants. Cleaned that/them up/out. Finally got the the bathroom ... and toilet wouldn't flush. At 5AM, in the dark, I was shoving a garden hose down the septic line cleanout. Now we're having fun ?!?
  22. guess the higher powerz didn't like FrankSinatra digitized... computer puked right after posting that I have a few LPs from these guys. This is one of my favorites
  23. ding ding ding!!! We have a winner ... and I couldn't remember my gmail acct info I was reduced to lurking laptop broke right after posting some Frank Sinatra in the vinyl thread You know the sign at the repair shop ... You can have it done Fast Cheap Good Pick any 2 I opted for cheap and good What else? I went to the hospital ... cardiologist there wanted to do a heart cath. I wanted a 2nd opinion. Seeing a different Dr, who speaks English as a first language. Feeling much better w/o any thing being done except not taking an herbal supplement for prostate. Got stung by a scorpion... on the balls that was fun, too especially the ice pack.
  24. Back to more current
  25. Chairman of the board is in the house. From my dad's collection Unplugged... They all were, then
