  1. not really I don't have a lot to think about [like I try...]... things that enter might stick
  2. It's called the Bighorn Fire. 2500acres. As far as I know, it's still on forest land and no structures are in danger. The smoke threw a cast over Tucson.
  3. didn't you attend a wedding in Tucson ? I remember you were in the area. or did I?
  4. 5 hours ago??? What you doing up at that time? Sounds like my schedule ... Another AM in the high 40's... headed for 100` Wife is at her leisure today. I don't have to prod her into going/doing things. She made it home in good shape, yesterday. She didn't go shopping with her sisters. Thank you!. They make her look like a power shopper. They have to look at every item in the store... I mean EVERY...Make a day of going to wally. I stop shopping when I have what I want... not them. They treat shopping like taking inventory. I thing the words "taking inventory" have to be the two most beloved words in business. lol @DizRotus your friends/family are not close to the fire, I hope? It's up Pima Canyon/Pusch Ridge, on the west end of the mountains. I'm gonna have to get the vac out here, to the doghouse. Been a hatch of DaddyLongLegs... Little spiders all over the place, along with "cobwebs" from them. I tend to let some be. Living fly paper. Well... maybe not flies... mozzies and gnats. That is fine.
  5. but but but we likes to burn da bush Gonna be a pay back for the nice weather. Temps are back in the low 100's. 106` Fri. Of course it will be. That is the day I will have to sit in the car waiting, while the wife is in the Dr's. It will prolly exceed expectation because I'm out.
  6. speaking of fire I just started an ashtray fire when I tapped my pipe out. It wanted to finish itself. Wouldn't have been too bad but for the cig butts that caught, too. Blech
  7. oh I am guessing the boy liked the chili last night "This tastes like 2 day [old] chili!" I tossed it together an hour or 2 before he ate it.
  8. Damn... I got called out. Yes, you are right. I am the same as I ever was.
  9. John, we , both, might be in the same boat. Now I have an excuse for being the way I am... that is about the time I started "gardening"
  10. Green manure... alfalfa is good too
  11. I gained about 5lb during my stay in IN... Just sucking up moisture from the air Just for shitz-n-giggles 4% r/h and 3` dew point right now.... and 90`. I guessed high 40's this AM... Looked at the thermometer... 47`. Might have actually been colder. 53` was the official low in Tucson. Had to laugh... weatherforecaster sez "This is the coldest it's been since May 21... Wow... 3 weeks.... Fire burning in the foothills of the Catalina Mts, north side of Tucson... Those expensive homes are in area that does that.... Don't get many brush/forest fires down in the city... duh I hope wife is good to have her cataract surgery.... pre-op inspection is Friday. First eye [is sposed to] get done next week.... if covid doesn't shut us down, again.... Might be like the last time... cancelled her surgery 2 days before it was to happen.... If she has to wait... not a real problem beside it needing to get done. She has 9 weeks of sick leave accumulated. I'm staying out of the AO/Round-up discussion. Except to say that when they were spraying that stuff all over Mexico and Columbia, they created marijuana that was resistant to it... Oops. Same phenomena may be why it doesn't work as well as it used to IDK.
  12. She looks a little too happy... Morning All Bloody fresh this AM. My guess is high 40's. 57 in Tucson. Told ya... it gets cool in the evening here. Kinda wish I could be "a fly on the wall" for the wife's trip today. 3 of the slowest/latest people I know are going to try to make it to an appt in Tucson. It's about time for me to kick the ball to get it rolling. Wife has a Dr appt. Then she is taking "the X factor" to the bank... where she is sposed to meet her other sister. Wife told X factor to be ready 1/2 hour before they really need to leave. Other sister is worse when it come to being places on time. I think it's a family trait. Drives me bonkers.
  13. @Dave1290 Ya know the 4th of July is coming up.... You could have fun blowing some shit up...
  14. They don't need to run tests on me. They can hold me up to a light and see thru. Just enough meat to hold the bones together.
  15. https://open.spotify.com/track/3hE8HEGRvRBrCKawtCoXNo?si=4lg-eJQoQfCT7h-cxt_kvQ Tarkus from Welcome Back... I saw Styx... the ad... 25,000 watts of music power. so what?!?... compared to Welcome Back... ELP was THE loudest concert I have ever attended. My ears were ringing for two days after.... Concert level listening?... if you dare
  16. this is why I do not go to the Dr. The stress of knowing what all was wrong would kill me.
  17. that shouldn't be a worry. It grow wild up there.
  18. You use a pick or finger-pick? My dad had heavy callouses on both hands from playing bass ... Jazz style plucking a stand up bass
  19. Salt works... that is why I asked if you planned to grow anything there after...
  20. kinda like my wife's spices... I would use them... if I knew what they are. Can't read the labels. And even then. I don't use a lot of different herbs/spices. Wife made pot roast last night. She got a little happy with the salt or the lid came off the shaker... Came out like beef flavored salt. I salvaged it for tonight's chili. Came out good. We don't usually use "beef"... A quart of tomatoes and another of beans diluted the salt to palatable. In my spice collection, I have a bottle of Hatch Green Chile Powder. Never seen green before that. It's good stuff. Hatch is the capitol of the chile world. The only debate in that town is, "Red or Green?". what? Can't butt a cigarette out on them? Remembering doesn't mean your fingers went where/when... Fun knocking the rust off.
  21. I glad some got around to Hendrix Voodoo Chile ........ the long blues version "Turn that thing down!" Band of Gypsys is a fine selection How about Humble Pie Rocking the Fillmore I Don't Need No Doctor?
  22. There's some things I hadn't heard about in those... thanks my grandmother had lots of "folk" cures around. Eucalyptus was among the pine tar and others. She tended to put stuff in an atomizer and spritz it in her mouth.
  23. her too sorry Chuck... It was too easy Mornin' All Kinda a late start for me. Was up at 3, went back to bed at 4:30... Got "up" at 7. Low 90's today. Almost feels cool. Wife is going in to work today. She off like a herd of turtles. After 9 and hasn't got out of the house yet. I'm not gonna get much of anything done. If it isn't started by 8, it ain't happening.
  24. Read it in a book.. stupid useless crap I remember I am familiar with the local honeys. Pulled a hive out of a house in GreenValley. Loaded with eucalyptus honey... Looked like blackstrap... Tasted like tar. Gimme the rhododendron honey please... has to taste better...don't care if it's poison.
  25. that makes two of us, then.... sorry I can't help
