  1. Definitely not to big for that particular room with those large cabinets. Just my opinion. I have a set of 8000s, which are just the newer model of the 280s. They are great. I only have about 6" to the wall.
  2. Thanks. I saw that, but wondered if other factors, such as the interaction between the tweeter and woofer, made a difference. Ultimately, I think you are right. After more digging, I found other Klipsch spec sheets that use the term "coverage" when discussing the horn aspect ratio. A vast number of their speakers use 90 degrees horizontal and 60 degrees vertical. I wonder if some of their book shelf speaker such as these use 90/90 thinking that some who buy this type speaker will lay them horizontal on the "bookshelf". Just a thought. Thanks again.
  3. I currently have four R-51Ms for my upper Atmos speakers in a vertical configuration. I am changing the mounting system and horizontal would be a better option. I know they have square tweeter horns, but am also aware there are other factors to consider that likely impact the dispersion. I cannot find the pattern listed in any specifications. Anyone know what it is? BTW, the speakers are directly pointed at the MLP. Thanks in advance.
  4. Decide where you are going...5 or 7 base layer and 2 or 4 heights. There are 9 and 6 too, but that is another story. Also, when you say back speakers, are you referring to side surrounds or rear? Highly recommend you read this. https://www.dolby.com/siteassets/technologies/dolby-atmos/atmos-installation-guidelines-121318_r3.1.pdf 150 over the 120...I like bass....have four 150s in the theater RP-600 complement what you have TX-RZ50. Onkyo. A lot depends on your goals. Denon has some nice receivers too.
  5. Regarding Klipsch subs. I have four SPL-150s in the theater and am happy with them. "Much better' is very relative. I use towers for all surrounds, so I am biased.
  6. 504C. Center 6000. Fronts 600. Surrounds All RPs
