  1. I got a 54" G10 with a free BD-60 bluray player for 1620 from Amazon shipped to my door. I love it, but I'm a big fan of plasma.
  2. Great, thanks! I have been sampeling some movies and it sounds great, but if anyone is intrested in trading a RC-52 for a RC-62 drop me a line!
  3. I just got my center I bough off ebay yesterday. The previous owner put 4 small screw hols in the bottom, I guess to secure it where ever he had it placed. Will this effect the performance? Two of the holes appear to have been completely through the bottom, although they are small. Also the adjustment foot on the back, can this be taken out and placed some where in the front to have the speaker angled up? I see a hole in the front but it looks like there is some kind of putty in it. Lastly the speaker is bigger than I though and will be used with RB-51s with a Denon 1910 receiver, will this be an issue, I know I have asked this before but it is still driving me crazy, anyone want to trade thier RC52 for a 62?
  4. Thanks, I should of been looking for a smaller center but the price was great. What ya guys think about RS-25s for the surrounds.
  5. I'm going through and trying to upgrade my old system, SB-2s, SC-1, SS-.5s, and a KSW-12 to a better Refrence based system. I got a deal on a set of RB-51s for 150 bucks and I just won a RC-62 for 240 last night off ebay. I plan on replacing the SB-2s with the RB-51s and replaceing the old Synergy SC-1 with the RC-62, will this be an okay match with the bigger center? This set up will be for 80% movie/TV watching and 20% music. Also what rear surrounds would you recommend from the Refrence line? Thanks
  6. So straight up the RB-51s are an upgrade from the SB-2s?
  7. I have a KSW12 sub that goes with this , as well as some SS.5 for surround, powered by a Sony STR 985, which is old and needs to be replaced with something that does HDMI switching. So the RB-51s are a definite upgrade on my SB 2s? Thanks for the info and I agree a much better center is really needed, I'm lookin at a RC 3 right not sure if that would work well though.
  8. Just bought a couple of like new RB-51s and a newer SC-1 off ebay for 150 bucks, the problem is I thought I was bidding on something else. Would the RB 51s be a good upgrade from my old Synergy SB 2s? The RBs are dimensionaly smaller, I really wanted some RB 81s but they are a little high for my budget, the speakers are for primairly movie watching. Thanks-D Oh by the way my old center is a SC-1 also, would it be better to replace my old one with the newer version? My old one is the wood body from about 6 years back.
  9. That glass thing was something a guy told me at a party I had, I kinda thought it didn't make sense than but I was half in the bag than anyways.
  10. I accidently posted my photos in the " a place to post images of your home theater" thread. Take a look and let me know what you guys think. I have more photos that I can post.
  11. Very nice, and I see you vacumed right before you took the photo! What do you think of your componets on glass? I made built in glass shelves for my cheap componets and I think everything sounds just fine.
  12. sorry last one, had to include my BYOAC arcade cabinet. Also just figured out I posted them in the wrong place cause.....I'm an idiot.
  13. Here is my "home theater" not really a theater but you get the idea.
  14. I used that same wire from partsexpress and couldn't be happier! The wire stripps easily and has a solid twist, it would work great with some banana plugs, like the ones orangepeel found on ebay.
  15. I saw them and your right ! They look COOL, did ya get them yet? I currently have Dayton Audio banana plugs on my reciever but I don't like how they terminate to the speaker wire. Hope you get them and post before theyre off the auction block.
  16. I have the SB 2s and I like them more than my wife.. just kidding. I'd love to have all Refrence but Synergy was what I could afford at the time and upgrading from some crappy Sony sattelites really made the Synergy shine! You should buy The Sc 1 at the very least, don't go with the SC .5, the center channel is huge to really enjoy surround sound. People will tell you that the Quintets are not prooperly timbre matched to the fronts and that might be true, but since they are effects speakers I don't think it will stand out and slap ya in the face. Just my opinion
  17. Hey Grovie, if you purchase the system before the end of November you get a free satelite speaker throgh the Klipsch website. That would fill in for your 6.1 surrond sound!
  18. Answer to #2 If you just have an unfinished basement or crawl space, then run the wires under the floor, all you'll have to do is drill a couple of small holes in the floor. This is NOT a big deal as it sounds, I have two buddies that did this and you can't even tell there is holes in the floor, and if you ever move the speaker, the hole is easy to fill in with wood putty. After restoring a 50 + year old house and having my floors done there were plenty of holes and dings in the floor and the floor guys just squeged the wood filler over the entire floor, then sanded and presto gorgeous floors that look brand new! Why rip off all your base molding, you allready are going to have to install all new quarter round. Just my thoughts!
  19. Thanks guys I'm going to get the stand.
  20. Try Dayton Audio from Partsexpress.com! Great quality that is not overpriced, there just as good as anything else.
  21. I'm considering purchasing a wood tech center channel stand but I am now considering mounting the center above my projection screen. That would locate it about 7 feet in the air and I would tilt the speaker toward the listeners. If I go witht the stand, the speaker would be 18" off the floor with a slight tilt up toward the listener. As of now I am using a SC-1 for my center but would like to upgrade to RC-35 in the future, I'm leaning toward the stand because it would make any transition easier in the future. Anyone have an opinion about the best location?
