  2. If you have the room go for it NO QUESTION!! and the $$ go for the RF 3's full range sound great gus ask horn ed Phips
  3. After doing a search it did not turn up much information so I am going to pose my unique situation question. I have a drywalled air-conitioning duct that I need to hang the speaker off of the bottom of. During my search here I have tured up this mount http://www.electronicaccessory.com/mall/bkspe.asp that semms to work. The only problem is I think is I will have to get a peice of plywood and drill two screw into it and mount the speaker on that and then attatch the mount onto the onther side of the plywood. Does this sound like a feasible plan or can someone else think up a better idea. Thanks, Phips
  4. Pounce is a popular brand if you do a search for that and drafting you should get good results also here is a good ling for the bags. http://www.aoeartworld.com/drafting.html Phips
  5. Please i'm desperate would wall wall be to far? Or would C be to close to seat B or and can someone recomend good mounting brackets that don't require me to screw into the speaker like omnimont. Also is 15 feet wide enough fo 7.1 and can some recomend a good 2 channel amp. Thanks Phips
  6. Thats what i'm saying i would use the receiver and use the output to the VCR but since my VCR dosent have S-video and the reciver does will it recognize it or am I not understanding something here? Thanks for the help Phips
  7. I wanted to get the monster cable game link 300 but my VCR only has composite inputs on the back . But I was wondering since I have it hooked up to my receiver and it has an S-video in when I go to use game link can I get the 300 and not the 200 will the VCR be able to interpret the S-Video signal or not or is there a better way to hook it up to the receiver. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks, Phips
  8. What does everyone think of this idea which placement would be better I am really looking for suggestions. Thanks Phips
  9. Most likely what I was going to do was mount two surrounds one on each side eiether on both walls or the air-conditioning duct via a mount. Also since I have about fifteen feet of room behind the main seating positioin I was thinking of going with 7.1. Is this enough room or should I stick with 6.1? The problem is in seat B is the air-conditioning duct going to be to close to mount a surround. Thanks for the help, Phips
  10. no prooblem P.S. if you are not going to biwire (which I would recomend not trying to open up a can of worms here) I would put your speaker wire in the LF not sure if it will actually do anything but might give you more bass. Phips
  11. Also if you want to use bannana plugs you are going to have to carefuly get a small knife or screwdriver and pry off the plugs on the binding posts but thats only if you need use bannna plugs. P.S. Dont losse the plastic plugs you pull out if you get bannana plugs or if you do biwire most importantly the metal strap the speaker will not function properly without it. Phips
  12. Try this site http://www.davidmannaudio.com/faq/faq3.html Some people here will debate biwireing you have to try it for your self if you are going to remove the metal strap jumper on the back. Phips
  13. I have attached a crude diagram that I have come up with and I could use some advice sorry for the PDF file format if someone else could convert I would appreciate it. A pdf file is an adobe acrobat file for those who dont know there is a free reader available at http://www.adobe.com. This is my current home theater layout and would like suggestions on placement. I usually sit in seat A which is approximately five feet from the wall. My fiancé usually sits in seat B which is about four feet from my chair. The problem is C is at its farthest point it is thirteen feet and is a dry wall finished air-conditioning duct and protrudes about six inches down from the ceiling. The next option is the far wall, which is eighteen feet from the other wall. My thoughts were either on the farthest side of the air-conditioning or the far wall. Also my previous question that doesnt seem to be getting popular response is do I need a two channel amp for a Denon 2802 if I am using it as a preout and can someone point me out a moderately priced amp and perhaps an article on how to wire the amp to the preouts. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks, PhipsSPEAKER LAYOUT1.pdf
  14. In a few months I would like to have a 7.1 setup. Curently I have a Denon 2802. Correct me if im wrong but all I have to do is get a stereo amp and hook it into the denons preouts right? Is anyone doing this with a 2802 and how does it soud or should i just stick with 6.1? Also can you recomend a good moderatly priced amp. Thanks, Phips

  18. Wow HornEd that was some detail youre sure dont disappoint when someone needs a question answered, I really appreciate your input. I guess now my big dilemma is do I upgrade wile I still can and return my 2802 and get the 3803 and gain the extra coax so I will finally be able to hook up my DVD player and cable box and gain the extra channel and the video up conversion and loose the clunky remote. Whats your take on this HornEd. Thanks angain, Phips
  19. Found out all toys r us are selling star wars for 9.99 and most places are price matching good luck and may the force be with you. Phips
  20. Searching for opinions here on rear surrounds and possible upgrading of my receiver. Can anyone tell an audible difference between 6.1 and 7.1. This would be either with a denon 2802 or a 3803. Thanks Phips
  21. Here in my town in Maryland I went to go pick up Star Wars Attack of the Clones for 14.99 at Circuit City and found out that they were price matching the toys r us next door for 9.99. I stared at the check out girl and smiled and said thank you have a nice day. So you might want to try your local toys r us first before anything else. Hope this helps. Phips
  22. I got mine early off the internet and am half way through so far it is excellent the dts version is much crisper then the dollby digital version. I only wish i had the rear channel to take advantage of the 6.1 other then that the extra scenes are excellent. Phips
  23. I know that I have asked for opinions on this particular unit before and my frequent questioning on the issue is probbly getting annoing. But I have to ask it differently, curently I have the denon 2802 and allmost love it. The sound is great but there are some features I dont like. I am still within my tradin period on my denon and for $400 can the 3803 which is backlit, has the second coaxial input so i can finnally connect both my dvd player and cable box at the same time. However i am not sure if the on screen display is outputed through the component out unlike the 2802. Is the 7.1 any advantage over the 6.1 i have now for future purposes. Could someone please explain to me how curent 6.1 resources are processed to 7.1 speakers. Are the speakers simulated? All input is welcome and i mean all because i want feedback on this potential puchace. What do you all think? Thanks Phips
  24. with the rb5 you are paying more for the wood venner where as with the rf3-II which i personally own you get more speaker for you money. From what I here the rf3-II have alot more bass than the rb5. personally with my reciver set on large and with lord of the rings in the dvd player I can vibrate the whole house. If your going for sound quality and not looks than my vote is the rf3 Phips
