  1. This time it´s the -  ah "The Doctors", in English. "Die Ärzte" are from my hometown (city better?) of Berlin. I think, you could call it Soft-Punk, most of the time. When this was new, I was still in school and didn´t like them very much. Now, I´m older, I like them and the remind me of my school days 😀.

This one´s seen quite some use, it seems, scratches on both sides. Didn´t pay much now, so maybe i´ll buy a better copy some other time.

Fixing the ripped veneer worked better than I´d hoped for. All the missing chips i plan to fill wish wood-repair-wax; that will be Terra Incognita for me. As I see it different shades of wax will have to be mixed and blended to the veneer, once it´s oiled and waxed.

  3. Isn´t this one a rather "big" bubble? You can hear his "Over the Rainbow/ What a wonderful World" quite often on the radio. I like it, but when i heard "Hawaii ´ 78", i really wanted the CD.

"High´ n Dry", that one´ s still missing on my shelf, have "Pyromania" & "Hysteria".

I saw a set of Heresy's at ListenUP that had the sag, which was disappointing.

That said, if you're good with a heat gun (and very careful, because you can melt the small black plastic in between all the gold/silver), you can shrink the material down.  You'll want to do the whole thing evenly.  I did this when I wrapped my center, mantel grille with the same material.  It tightened up nicely.

Somebody tried this with the cloth from Crites? I´m in the process of re-wrapping the grilles of my Heresys, just in case I have to do corrections afterwards...

  5. I also found some more dents that i didn´t see before, because the old finish was so dark. Hope i will find the time to get some more work done tomorrow.

Also, my K77 are on their way to get re-magnetized, maybe new diaphragms as well, depending on wht the techs say.

  6. A bit of progress:

My makeshift tool against sanding through the veneer on the front edges:

Veneer was chipped on one cabinet from the beginning ... I caught an edge and tore of some more... Let´ s see what I can glue back in.

But all in all it worked well.

Oh well, Heritage Klipsch are rare in our countries so no matter how much you paid, it was a smart move in my opinion 😉 congrats on you purchase!

Amen to that! There´ s a pair of Heresys on german ebay kleinanzeigen today, nothing special, stacked one on the other on the pictures, on bare outsides stone flooring (so much for the veneer then...), seller is asking 1500€! Can´ t remember seeing Chorus here....

Is it pretty tricky to cue up songs with the transparent vinyl?

Seen with a little angle from the side, you can still make out the grooves, so, no problem.
