  1. Offered here first...

    1 pair of RF-3's

    1 RC-3

    1 pair of RC-3's

All are excellent condition throughout. I am the original owner. I like this system, but I am moving to a Heritage HT.

$950 for all + shipping. I will ship in original boxes, or meet within a 100 mile radius of West Central Ohio.

  2. I fiinally pulled the trigger on a pair of '85 La Scalas. I am a Klipsch Veteran (20 yrs. or so), but I have a few questions regarding these beauties.

    1. These look to be stock AK crossovers. Is there anything I should know about them? I may look at mods down the road, but for now, I want to spend some time listening to them.

    2. I am going to use them as mains in my HT. Thinking of Using Heresys as center and surrounds. Anyone else here use this combo? Space up front is limited, so even though I won't rule out another La Scala as a center down the road - I would like to go the Heresy route. pros / cons?

    3. I know many here tout tubes as the way to go. Practically speaking, I will be using a SS Surround receiver for a while. Any real problems with this?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I think a couple of guys here on the BB have used an RC-3, but it will not be a perfect match. Other options might be a KLF-C7, KV-3 or KV-2. Again, non of these are specifically made to be a timbre match to Heresy, but they might be close.

I have Heresies and an RC-3, but the Heresies are for two-channel and the RC-3 is with other Reference models. Maybe I'll swap out my RF-3's with Heresies tonight and report back.

  4. Not to muddy the waters, but you might consider NAD, Rotel or vintage Nakamichi. I have an older Nakamichi Receiver 2 powering my Heresy's and it sounds awsome.

With all due respect, you should not put too much emphasis on Wattage... consider the way the receiver is built ie. large power transformer large capacitors, etc. These factors usually add up to large current, which is a better indicator whether the receiver will drive your speakers to the audible bliss you are seeking.

  5. Quick sidenote - The KG4 and KG4.2 are way different speakers. The KG4 used dual 8" woofers, one large horn tweeter and a rear firing passive radiator. The KG4.2's Use one 10" woofer, 10" front firing passive radiator and a Tractrix horn tweeter.

If compared side by side I think that you would find that the KG4.2's would exhibit more bass, but be lacking in midrange and high end detail compared to the Heresy. Even though the Heresy gets beat up by many for being lean on bass - I find it to be natural, fast and "punchy".

That all being said, I would go with the Heresy
