40+ years of motocross. I still have my racebikes but haven't ridden them in a couple years. I've done everything except hillclimb and ice racing. MX was just an easy way to race a lot. Compared to other forms it's dirt cheap. Dirt track can be "budget" racing as well but it depends on where ya live. There's an MX track almost everywhere.
In all that I've done the thrill of an open class two stroke motocross bike is hard to beat. I still have my 1980 YZ465. Cars of that caliber are just too expensive to buy let alone race.

Damn I thought you were joking.
That being said try landspeed racing. The tuning is...different. Fuel demand is unbelievable in a long run.
There's a mile run in Arkansas in May this coming year. Look here.

It's going to be a long time before Covid is tamped down. Take care.

I know how hard it is to go that fast in a standing start mile. Hell 200MPH is a serious accomplishment. Everyone who thinks their car/motorcycle will leave as a 200MPH club member heads home shaking their heads wondering what happened.. Congrats on a seriously stout run.
Hope they go to Bonneville. Love to see that monster's accomplishment on the big course.

Looking forward to adding it to the H1.

I did but first time it wasn't there. Too bad it's at Delfest. I'll pass. A real cluster that one.

May 26-28, 2023 in Cumberland, MD. I don’t think you need to fly there.
Where did you find that? nope I could walk there. It'd take a few hours but I could do it.

Unfortunately it appears I'll need to fly anywhere they'll be playing.
EDIT:Listened to a bit on streaming app. Too bad they aren't closer. Good music.

Will give your background, I hope you may know. So I'm curious, does HD in the owner's manual or official service manuals recommend a specific brand of oil? If so, what is it?
Thanks in advance,
Travis
If it's a Milwaukee 8 they recommend Harley Syn3. made for Harley by Citgo. An above average oil but not a true synthetic. It's a group III which has a mineral base stock with a heavy additive package.
Personally I run Mobil 1 15w50. With OEM Harley oil filters.

Ya think?

That's what pays my bills. I work on Harleys and have off and on since 1979. Currently ride a '20 Road King as my daily rider. 45K miles and stock. Well all Harley. Has some OEM exhaust from a CVO that a customer gave me. And a police solo. Only makes 80hp/104lb/ft but that's fine for what I do with it.

I think this will compliment my recently acquired Heresy 1 well.

Nah motorcycle. Cannot afford fast cars. My WRX is quick but doesn't have that kinda top end rush.

I've set 14 landspeed records. My dailys are all bone stock. One of them is good for 180 MPH or so.
Do your homework and buy what suits yer needs and maintain it. Far less headache that way.

Oh yeah nothing beats the smell of VP race fuel (R.I.P. M8) with a load of Castor 927 at 32:1 in the morning.
