  1. 40+ years of motocross. I still have my racebikes but haven't ridden them in a couple years. I've done everything except hillclimb and ice racing. MX was just an easy way to race a lot. Compared to other forms it's dirt cheap. Dirt track can be "budget" racing as well but it depends on where ya live. There's an MX track almost everywhere.

In all that I've done the thrill of an open class two stroke motocross bike is hard to beat. I still have my 1980 YZ465. Cars of that caliber are just too expensive to buy let alone race.

  2. I know how hard it is to go that fast in a standing start mile. Hell 200MPH is a serious accomplishment. Everyone who thinks their car/motorcycle will leave as a 200MPH club member heads home shaking their heads wondering what happened.. Congrats on a seriously stout run.

Hope they go to Bonneville. Love to see that monster's accomplishment on the big course.

Will give your background, I hope you may know. So I'm curious, does HD in the owner's manual or official service manuals recommend a specific brand of oil? If so, what is it?

    Thanks in advance,

If it's a Milwaukee 8 they recommend Harley Syn3. made for Harley by Citgo. An above average oil but not a true synthetic. It's a group III which has a mineral base stock with a heavy additive package.

Personally I run Mobil 1 15w50. With OEM Harley oil filters.

  4. That's what pays my bills. I work on Harleys and have off and on since 1979. Currently ride a '20 Road King as my daily rider. 45K miles and stock. Well all Harley. Has some OEM exhaust from a CVO that a customer gave me. And a police solo. Only makes 80hp/104lb/ft but that's fine for what I do with it.  :D
