  1. And I am a desparate buyer of RF-5, but the $230 shipping you quoted is high. So we both are desperate to sell and to buy - so instead of just saying it, lets turn it in action, for example why not package the speakers yourself (instead of asking UPS to do it) - it would bring the shipping cost down and I would grab them this right minute - make them ready for shipping, and I will pay for them immediatly.
  2. The seller is packaging the RF-5s and will be ready to ship within 2-3 days. UPS Ground will take about 7-9 days. So all-in all about 12 days. I am in SF Bay Area, where are you located? They are in very good shape, there a few very very minor surface scratches, invisible from more than 2 feet. There is a very slight dent in one of the woofers. I can provide pictures.
  3. Heads up: my RF-3II will soon be for sale. I am looking at buying RF-5s from forum member, and if the deal goes through, I will be selling the RF-3IIs.
  4. RC-3 - about $125 - 150 RS-3 - about $250 - 300
  5. How much are you asking for 1 pair? Will you ship to US - San Francisco Bay Area?
  6. You would sell the gear much quicker separately, I am interested in the RF-5s.
  7. Eagle, you still haven't replied to my question - is EVERYTHING in your signature for $2000?
  8. Agent Eagle, It's a little unclear, are you selling all this: Denon AVR-4802 (Receiver) Denon DVD-2800MKII (DVD Player) Denon DCM-270 (CD Player) Klipsch RF-5's (Front) Klipsch RC-3 (Center) Klipsch RSW-12 (Subwoofer) Klipsch SA-1's (Surrounds) for $2000, or only: Denon AVR-4802 Denon DCM-270 (CD Player) Klipsch RF-5's (Front) Klipsch RC-3 (Center) Klipsch RSW-12 (Subwoofer)
  9. I might be interested in the RF-5s, if they are black, and if you are willing to ship. How much are you asking for just the RF-5s only?
  10. In general, placing a speaker closer to the back wall will produce more bass, 1" is not optimal, but is enough to breathe. You will probably be running the speakers as small and there will not be much bass anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue.
  11. The models are http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rb-35.aspx http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rb-25.aspx http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rb-15.aspx
  12. Hey, I also read your posts on AVS. No, you can't just hang a rear ported speaker on the wall. Klipsch has a bookshelf speakers that are front ported, I'll try and find it for you.
  13. I couldn't care less! I few years ago, I plunged into the SACD and DVD-A formats... got two players, and a number of SACDs and DVD-As. Since none of those formats actually replaced CDs, and due to the limitted titles, I bit the bullet and sold the players. Considered it a bad investment. So I am not willing to invest in HD-DVD or BluRay until one is set to replace DVD and become the norm. Good luck to all that venture in these new HD formats.
  14. Can't comment on the actual receivers in question, but just wanted to post a recommendation for B&K - I am very pleased with my B&K AVR-307, although it is an older model.
  15. Yes, 15" would be good, the area of a 15" woofer is more than 3 times bigger than that of an 8" driver.
  16. Would you like to buy my Velodyne 12" sub at a very reasonable price? Check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/Velodyne-CT-120-Powered-Subwoofer-280-Watts_W0QQitemZ110133212509QQihZ001QQcategoryZ3275QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Roc, thanks for the offer, but I am done shopping for a while, I recently purchased RC-7, RS-7, and B&K AVR-307.
  17. Gil, what you say is very true, if, and that is a big if, you have a very good sub. In my setup I run all my speakers large. This produces the best results for me. My sub is small 8" Veldyne SPL, and while it is a good sub, I wasn't pleased when I set the mains to small. A pair of RF-3II have 4 8" woofers, and when I set them to small and redirected bass to the sub, they lost their punch - music just sounds thin. So 4 8" woofers in the mains are better than my single 8" sub. Anyway, for my setup large works best. I only use the sub in movies to reproduce the .1 LFE.

    guys help

I have replaced the woofer of my RB-5II, and it was around $65. Right now I need to replace the woofer of my RS-7, and they quoted me $162. So it all depends...

    guys help

YEs, you can replace it, 1-800-KLIPSCH, parts department. Was it an accident, or you were playing them loud?
  20. While I did like HK 645 very much, I returned it - it locked up multiple times, and the fan was too noisy. Mine was also running hot, the fan was running almost all the time, and I had it on the top shelf of an open rack. I now have B&K AVR-307. As Falcon said, test the receiver completely. Make the fan spin and see if you can tolerate the noise...

Will you please share how you resolved the buzz?
  22. So you didn't want/like my RC-3II?
  23. As long as I know, the $498 is to upgrade AVR-307 to AVR-507. I am considering it, but I'll call them next week to find out what exactly is they are upgrading... AVR-307 has a tone generator from 20Hz to 300Hz that is used to find room anomalies. I found there is an enormous peak at 84Hz in the magnitude of +17dB. I used the notch filter to equalize this. I am wondering what is causing this peak?
  24. I just received the B&K AVR-307 I purchased from Mike (boston_klipsch). I must say I am amazed. Let me say it again - it's AMAZING!!! This receiver is just sooooo sweet, it makes my RF-3II sing like never before, I just cannot believe what I was missing these past 6 years while I had the Sony STR-DA5ES. B&K blows out of the water the Sony, as well as the other two I tried: HK AVR-645 and Emotiva LMC-1/LPA-1. I am very pleased with my purchase, and some will say this receiver is dated and does not have HDMI and the new HD formats, but I don't need all this until one of HD DVD or Blue Ray prevails and the standards settle. I am not good in describing sound characteristics, all I can say is my music has never sounded so SWEET!
