  1. Maybe Brian Wilson was a plumber, geologist in his first life. Lyricist's are strange yanno but then so are we! I'd take your weather thou kinda, maybe. lol Now if the daughter returns my car in the near future I can relax and go back to my vegatative state. Her's puked she told me a couple weeks ago right before she backed it outta the garage. I had a couple flashbacks of being "grounded" when I was a kid. Then the plumbing cuts loose so things are starting to look up. At least she hasn't asked to borrow any money yet. Notice the "yet." I DID hear her say either THIS Friday or NEXT Friday she'd have a new one. You know how that goes I'm sure. 😂
  2. Sure they do but NOT in my lifetime! 😂
  3. That was the crux of it all. There IS an outside line and the city comes out w/their long key and shuts the main line off. Then you can replace the valve INSIDE the house, which is the main valvve in line before the meter. The old valve on the inside was junk so it was a pita for me since that valve was totally corroded. Freaky cause the old valve stem was ready to go. There were two threads on the collar nut which goes around and holds the valve stem tight. No way to put a wrench on it and completely close it w/o taking a chance on the collar nut splitting. Then I'd have had an aquarium down there.. Had him put a ball swing valve in instead of the old gate valve. They're much better than a gate valve. It's either on or off. Soooo, in talking to the water dept dude, who came in for coffee w/us, I found out the entire city had some water insurance automatically added to the monthly bill. It cost $1.85 a month on your bill and you had an option to opt out. Heck I didn't even know about it. So he then said to pay the high bill then call this insurance company, fill out the paperwork online and they would pay the FULL difference in the bills AND pay for the plumber to repair the problem. For 25$ a year? The REAL plus is your limit on the insurance is 1k$ a year? The plumber had just told me before the city guy came in he was only gonna charge me $100. After hearing that I paid him 150 so he wrote me the bill for 150. FINALLY, in my life I did the right thing by NOT opting out of something. 😂 😂 💪 😎 😂 Sounds like they're good to go too!
  4. Here's a bit of "werkin" moosic for ya @JohnJ! For the rest of you curmudgeons lookin for 3 hours of "Whiskey Blues" ya might want to check this one out. It's definitely a ride and a half! FREE is ALWAYS good if ya find it! It's killer!
  5. Just dropped some "Whiskey Blues" over in the youtube spinning thread. 3 hours of bliss so far. Fire it up. At about the 53 minute mark some dude just fired up the B3 along with some keys. Smoooooth brother!
  6. Of course I'm moving early today @Tarheel! Plumber just left to go get a valve and called the city boys to turn the water off. Light at the end of the tunnel finally. Seems like that always happens then I can't rant anymore. Just sad for an old curmudgeon like me. On the bright side coffee's done and I don't have to make him breakfast! Dropped a youtube video ya might enjoy. 3 hour ride of "Whiskey Blues." Enjoy the day!
  7. Oh, I'm not worried. You've got it under complete control. Lil youtube whiskey blues while I wait on the coffee. It always sorts! lol
  8. Relax! It'll sort! lol

  10. Hey hey my cheap plumber called. The mental alarm clock will be set for 0 dark thirty tomorrpw. Think it'll be time for a second pot when he shows @ 0830. My pioneer days might just be about over. 50 today, a lil rain and that's about it.

  12. Interesting? Harbs interviewed w/the Chargers and was offerred the head coaching job, which he supposedly accepted today. Nothing much coming out yet but... It remains to be seen if he'll be saved harmless by blue after the NCAA investigation and the possibility of them having to vacate the Natty and many conference games in the past years. Oh the OTHER side of rhe coin the portal has been so VERY kind to the Buckeyes especially w/the retirement of Saban @ Bama. We picked up their starting Center, QB and Safety so far in addition to Air Nowland committing. Needless to say, the QB room is now OVER loaded with talent. Many other Buickeyes have decided to return to OSU after hitting the transfer portal after the loss to Missouri. It's about unfinished business they say. Coach Day has been trimming the coaching fat and replacing people with more qualified people imo. A new OC so he can totally step back from play calling and devote more time to the game itself. At what cost you say? So far the number I've seen is 12M spent in the NIL portal @ OSU. Recently CJ Stroud paid into the funds at the platinum level which is 50-100k. The entire athletic department raised 234Mil last year. Many of those high dollar athletes are donating monies back into their respecctive program to insure other players get a cut of their personal money in an all-for-one effort. That's happening at a lot of universities it seems. Some crazy numbers out there for sure. The 234mil number is across the board w/all sporting activities at the university.
  13. Nice call on that one @Full Range. Been a minute here on those guys so might have to see what I have here.
  14. 49 today w/spotty rain. "Possibly Friday" looms on the horizon. 😂 Carry on!
  15. This place is a real money pit. I knew it would have issues when I bought it but... Started w/the icemaker plastic water line. 20 year old fridge that was new when I bought the place. The line cracked. Shut the water off & replaced the line at the coupling up to the icemaker which broke at the bottom of the fridge. Then got a door hanger from the water company last Thurs . I knew old ppl lived here but the ONLY place it could have leaked was in the gravel coverd crawl space so I looked. Yup, had been running for a couple weeks. Oldest daughter came over and hit the crawl space and changed out THAT plastic line, which also broke. So had to turn the water off. WHY those ppl ran a line from a filter attached to an outside hydrant line in a crawl space is beyond me. Why not the sink line 4' away? Then when the water went on, the old gate valve stem collar nut was deteriolated to the max and the nut was cracked.. Sooooo, that's the crux of it but not all. One floor drain and I honestly think they put Sakrete in the line to prevent heavy rain water from backing up into the basement of this tri-level. Long back story to that problem here in the hood. Right after I bought the place I got two inches. Neighbors on either side of me got 4'. All because the city hadn't completed the seperate lines outta the hood. Yea, that's the story and right now I'm running outta dishes and silverware so it BETTER be Friday! 😡 😂 Upside of it? Called the city and the dude told me that somehow I had signed up for broken water line coverage for a couple bucks a month. He said it should cover the majority of the 260$ water bill this month. Normally it's 60. We'll see. Guess I did something right and didn't remember it.
  16. Last week it was Tues or Wed then shifted to Monday. Sent him a text this morning and got a "probably Friday." FINALLY got a shower this afternoon at the kids. He did tell me last week he was working on a new house and had to get it finished. But.... lol Wait, I'm STILL trying to figure that one out. 😂 Sooo much for the naked snow angels made by the neighbot. Gone too soon. Hope ya feel better soon Chuck!
  17. Heck of a ride listening to that kid kick a$$ on his version. Thanks @Full Range!
  18. IF anyone could do it you'd figure out a way!
  19. Gotta thank @Full Range for this post. It's story time! The two-hour drive to Detroit just to hit the "Roostertail" for teen days was almost weekly for me as most everyone knows. I started into Motown since I'm ancient. Just a few "white" kids in a predominantly "black" club havin fun catchin a groove w/ALL the artists of that era. It wasn't anything like things are at some places today. I'll just stop there with that thought. When I picked up "Sixto" Rodriguez's "Cold Facts" lp that Paul mentioned and then someone mentioned maybe Marvel his history. A bell went off when I searched him out. A group of kids I knew were talking about this dude who was BETTER than Bob Dylan who just lived down the street. I totally blew that off cause NO one was better than Dylan. Little did I know. Sooo, if you don't have his "Cold Fact" lp I highly recommend adding it before they're gone. I did another thing too. I picked up another of his before it's gone. It's VERY different from "Cold Facts" as his lyrics and presentation are featured imore n the final mix. Sad that he's gone now and his lp's are breaking out all over. Paying back now for what a lot of us missed by listening to Dylan. Yea you really do need both to complete "yourself" if you're anything like me. Thank me later! BOTH are 5-star from me.
  20. The Soul Sessions is the debut studio album by English singer and songwriter Joss Stone, released on 16 September 2003 by S-Curve Records. The album consists of cover versions of soul songs from the 1960s and 1970s, in addition to a cover of the White Stripes' 2001 song "Fell in Love with a Girl" (renamed "Fell in Love with a Boy"). In 2004, The Soul Sessions was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and was nominated for a MOBO Award for Best Album.[2][3] This woman makes me wonder. Some love her and some give her a "blah!" I picked up her most recent lp and had questions. It was a good lp but not a Joplin voice at all but a mix maybe? A Janice wannabe? Nah, but Joss is still VERY different. I just couldn't put my finger on it. I went back to her first lp, got a notice it showed up so I snagged it. She's got her own style that's for sure and it's different yet still make me wonder. She's good. Darn good. Her delivery is also amazing. She's different in a sometimes great way in other ways not so much. What say you? Signed. Stumped in Ohio! 😂
  21. Nice lil double JJ Cale "The Silvertone Years" lp from Music on Vinyl #372 of 1500. If ya like JJ Cale this is one h3ll of an album. If ya don't really know his backstory ya might wanna check him out. My advice if ya want a RIDE don't waste anytime and snag it while ya can! He's special and this double lp is worth every penny. Pricey but KILLER!! ! John Weldon "J. J." Cale[1] (December 5, 1938 – July 26, 2013) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he avoided the limelight,[2] his influence as a musical artist has been acknowledged by figures such as Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Waylon Jennings, and Eric Clapton, who described him as one of the most important artists in rock history.[3] He is one of the originators of the Tulsa sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz. It's kind of ironic. When Andrew Lauder of Silvertone said he'd like to put out some tapes, I just got a bunch together and they put 'em out as an album. It wasn't till I got to listening to the album that I noticed that I'd written a bunch of tunes in the last four or five years about towns, and places, and travellin' around. Another great one gone too soon!
