  1. I know this may sound silly, but if that unplug idea doesn't work, are the Speaker A or B(depends on what your useing)button thing on. I have the RX-V992 and the speaker A and B thing show up on the screen when its on. I hope its only that simple if that unplug idea doesn't work. Thats the only left I can think of.
  2. Ok I know this may sound silly, but what does SVS really stand for. I have been wondering for a while. Looked on the site and found nothing.
  3. Well to tell you the truth I wouldn't be able to affored RF-7s for a very long time. It might take a year or two. But the RF-3s were best ones I could wait for to afford. They sure do make my old system look bad. Well they were klipsch as well, just they weren't all that great. Well I thought they were till I got my new RF-3 set. But I don't want to throw em away. There my first set. So I could use my old system. Use my sats for Bs, cut the bass off and use my sub. But I have a feeling it will either be to bright, or the sats cant' be heard. 93dB Sens vs 98dB Sens, a challage for my sats for sure. But if put high, they sound louder right? I think about 8 foot high. Well I was wondering if it would be a waste to use my old speakers. Thank you for your answers.
  4. Well I have a small room. If I remember right its 11 by 10 feet. So from what people say, one should be plenty. And the RF-3s almost give me enought bass, but sometimes I notice it doesn't go as low as I like. But they are great as temperary main bass speakers. So I figure the PCi SVS subs would be high enought. I was thinking either then 20-39 or maybe even the 16-46. Also about the RF-7s, do all I have to do is get a good sub and turn up the volume to get the same effect they do? If thats all I am missing then I would feel great about what I got. HT Front- Klipsch RF-3II Center-Klipsch RC-3II Rear- Klipsch RS-3II Sub- Klipsch KSW100(sad I know but I will replace it with something) Receiver-Yamaha-RX-V992(It doesn't sound to bright to me with my Klipsch) DVD Player-Playstation 2(I will get a real one later)
  5. Well part of this topic was so you don't have to put 100 topics on your opinions. The other reason was I have a few questions that require opinions. What sounds better on the RF-3s,Grill or no grill. If I am hearing it right it sounds more open without the grill. I was wondering if others heard it this way. Also, how much sound am I missing from what RF-7s cand do. Is it alot, or just a little? I bi-wired my RF-3IIs and RC-3II, was that a good idea? Also I dunno what to do with my sub(KSW-100 and i was poor at the time)anymore, my RF-3s kinda replaced it. And what SVS subs goes best with the RF-3s. I don't expect answers on all of these, but all would be nice. And if you can only answer one(even if it was answered already) thats fine. Well thank you for you answers from a past and future.
  6. Well if they are authorized then it would be a good idea. I got those 3 pieces for 665 from an authorized dealer. Just to give you a bench mark. If they are unauthorized, I would say go somewhere else. But of course this is my opionion. Hope this helps.
  7. As I have read, just to get 3 more dB, you must double your power. Regardless of your speaker. So for those SF-2s play 96 dB with one watt and 99 with 2 watts,102 at 4 and 105 dB at 8 watts. As least thats what I read. On this site you can find a chart. If you goto Home Audio FAQ and look at the efficent/power(or it might go the other way) This is were I got my info from. Hope this helps
  8. Well I haven't quiet got these sweet speakers yet, but I should be getting them this Friday(August 16th). So I was wondering sence the first ones could(RF-3s), can the IIs do it and if they can, is it a good idea? Does it really make a difference it how much better it sounds? And if it also is possable, do you wire them Horn as one wire and woofers as another wire? I was also thinking about useing the A speakers for one and B speakers for another on my reciiver or if just useing A for both would be a good idea. I do have some old sats(Rebels but for some reason there not on this site). I mean the Rebels built in the mid 90s not the 60s or whatever. And would like to set those to Bs if its a good idea. Well any suggestions would be nice. Thank you for your answers from the past and present. HT system (soon anyway) Fronts- RF-3IIs Center- RC-3IIs Back- RS-3IIs Sub- KSW100(will be replaced) Reciver-Yamaha RX-V992(Thinking of replaceing or adding an amp) CD Player-um well useing the optical cable for connection from a all-in-one system(Awia, dunno the rest right now) DVD Player-Playstation 2(I will get a real one later) But hey for a 20 year old guy that only has jobs for 4 summers(no other season), this is pretty good.
  9. Well I was thinking I could save up for the SVS PC-Plus sub, and sence I can return it within 45 days, if I think the RSWs are any better I'll get those, if the SVS sub is as good as you say it is, I'll keep it. I might lose some money, but at least its worth a shot in seeing what sub by my ears is better. As you guys useally say, lets your ears decide. By the way, the RF-3s rock like crazy. I think thats as high as I'll ever need to go in the sensitivy area. Well thank you for your anwsers.
  10. I went to the store and heard the RSW-10s and thought they were pretty awsome. So I was thinking either the 10 or 12 for my RF-3s. Would spending the extra money on a Klipsch RSW sub be worth it compared to an SVS sub? Thanx for you answers from the past and future.
  11. Ok, I have never had to unpack a tower speaker before as well as WDST speakers or a center. Only satilites and a sub. So I was wondering, what would be the best way to unpack Klipsch towers? Do they come in there own box, or both in the same box? And are the WDST speakers package together, or sepertly? I am asking so I don't damage my speakers when unpacking and also so I have an idea how to pack the stuff in the back of the truck. Any answers would be great. Thank you in advance.
  12. So do you think that the RF-3II,RC-3II,and RS-3II system should have no problem(not brakeing a sweat)or am on the edge of just getting what I need? I am trying to get a good idea how good these speakers are. I want to make sure these speakers are way up there on the sound scale. I know there built quilty isn't top notch(sorry Klipsch) but I know they went more for sound quility. Well thank you for you answers from the past and future.
  13. I was wondering what Klipsch speakers that don't have the THX stuff on em handle THX,Dolby Digital and all well. If it really doesn't matter then thats great. I was just wondering. Thank you for your answers in advance and past.
  14. Well I have done alot of reading and some listening to the RF-3s, and I read two different max continues power rateings for them. I read 150 watts on the site, but on the downloudable manual it says 225watts and the brochure says 225 watts. So I was wondering what the true max continues was. Thank you in advance.
  15. Hey Doug I was thinking about getting an SVS. I was wondering what model you have. It wil give me an idea which one I want. Thank you in advance.
  16. I know this is off the your matching topic, but is $1365 to much for the whole RF-3,RC3,RS3 package? By the way this is brand new and by an autherized dealer. I think its a good price, but I was just wondering. And the SF-2,SS-1,SC-1 package is $1120. In my opinion its not that big of a jump in price consdering. Well thats all I wanted know for now. And thank you for your answers from the past and futre.
  17. Well I found a great set of speakers for a great price at reliableaudiovideo.com But is this place safe to use? And is the shipping bad or do they do a good job? And is the shipping expisive? Any answers would be great. Thank you in advance
  18. Ok thank you. That gives me a much better idea how good the Ref-3s are. They sound pretty respected where they stand. So would the RF3s sound good for bass on there own? Just temp of course. And it seems those SVS subs are nice. I'll look around, but I'll definity will keep the SVSs in mind. Are the RSWs any better then SVS sound wise? Becuase it seems that Klipsch does better speakers then subs. But I am just asking to make sure. Also about Infinity, I think its the interlude might be those ones that dblue was talking about. If i am looking at it right, the price is better. Also what about JBL subs? Any answers would be great. Thank you in advance.
  19. Well, I was wondering, now sence I am going to get the RF-3 series. I was wondering if the Klipsch KSW 15 sub would be a good idea, or should I drop down to a 12. I have the old KSW 100. And I read that adding a 2nd sub smooths out the bass. And I am also a bit tired of haveing to turn my sub down(set on half way on the sub, full on recever) while my Master Volume is up only 35% it would peak out. Well there are times I like it loud but who doesn't? I don't mind spending the money if the KSW15 is A ok with the RF-3s. If thats to much the KSW 12 then. Any answers would be great. Thanx in advance.
  20. Thanx for you answers guys, It might take me a few more weeks to get, but I think I'll save up for then RF-3s. It may not be the best, but there far from the worst. And well, I wouldn't buy from any other speaker company unless its speakers for a car. I am a fan. After I bought my first pair I loved em. So they were little sats that only handled 65 watts with a 93 dB sensitity. They sounded better then anything I heard. So, after that I was hooked. And after I read that story, he didn't seem only as a great speaker engineer, but other good things as well. He may not be famous, but he seems to be just as great as some of the most famous people. So even if I did get the syergyies it would be nice, but I have a feeling i'll be happier with the RF-3s. Well there bigger which is one thing i like, play louder, which i also like and as you guys have said, play better. So thank you guys. So one more question, is monster cable 16 gauge wire good enought?
  21. Well actually I made a small Error. It was the SF-2s Vs the RF-3s. But I don't think it will be much of a difference anyway. I know I can get the syergy system for just 1120. Which I think is a good deal. I have to talk to the dealer about the Reference but he says 80 watts isn't enought power. If you ask me, if I don't have alot of power, wouldn't more effiecent be a good thing? And its ok if i can't max out the system. Well the thing is, I only want to do this system thing once. Also it will be a good thing when I get more power later(if i do). But sound is my biggest thing. O and I can't really try out the system. Well they have this car in the building(yes you read right) that has this system going in it. So its hard to ear the Klipsch with a car just 5 feet out the little room they have for the Klipsch. Yeah, I got a chance to hear the RF-3s without the annyoing car, but I can't compare the Syergyes due to it not being all the same room and that car. So, if the referecees give out alot more detail, then I say its worth it, if its just alittle bit to the point where its almost unnoticeable, then I'll stick with the syergyes. Thank you for your answers.
  22. I have a question about what speaker set I should buy. I was wondering whats a better buy. Should I get the SF-1,SS-1.SC 1 set or the 3 series Reference series speakers? I don't mind paying the extra money if the RF-3 set is that much better. Also I was wondering, how far away should back speakers be away from the back wall? I can do 3 max. I already have it all set up for about 7 feet up the wall. Well any info would be great. Thanx for you time.
