    RAY

saw it last night, evem my 16 year old was enthralled, he kept asking the question; did he do that song too? it made me remember how much effect he had on present day music. and i agree, sometimes when they do this type of movie the actors do not do the subject justice, but jamie fox was perfect, the walk, the gestures, a job well done. ray will be missed

  1. sorry i keep adding on . but grado is known for thier sparkling highs and absoulute clarity in an in your face manner, whereas senn is known for that as well as jaw trembeling bass. bass is grados weakness

  2. wow, i know the bose listeners havent gotten around much, i have heard them, and just like everything else bose sells, well they are bose? alot depends on your budget, but the most important thing to do is audition alot, cans are a very intimate experience, and with good cans music and ht can be very engrossing, but on the other hand bad makes it bad, sennheiser, grado, actually go to headfi, or headroom .com, they have all bases covered there, plus they have an 800# where you can speak to a can geek, they are pretty cool

  3. ok, i have read a few of the comments, and i think the best way i could comment is a simple demonstration. take a set of any reference speaker, relax and play a well known piece of music, enjoy. now take the box the reference speaker came in and slip it over the reference speaker, now play the same music, this is the difference

  4. in my experience it happens across the board, expanded tweets, missing mids and overstated unbalenced bass, i found when i had mine connected to my heresies there was plenty of vocals missing when listening to well known music, i guess if you grew up with yammie and you never heard well balanced music you would not miss that, but take 1 well known cd, and place it on different source players and it will sound different. in audioning over the years the worst i have found for imaging have been yammie and sony

  5. wow i would say that the owner who is blown away by the 7's, well i wont say anything. unless mistaken i believe paul klipsch voiced the 7 after the cornwall. having had both in house, i would definatly prefer the cornwall it has more impact, especially down low. reading the post on this subject lately has had me asking myself what are these people listening to thier music and ht on?

  6. its hard to tell what you are building towards? especially since 7.1 doesent exist yet, except for bragging rights? my suggestion is slow down, reacess everything, right now all of the suggested systems raise 1 question in my mind. why? slow down, start out with a good receiver, yammie is far to bright for klipsch, begin with good front channels, and build from there. having such a mismatched system only makes the experience worse, not better

  7. you know it just does not matter what size speakers you use, read my sig, and i live in a townhome, with similar size restrictions, and never have complaints from neighbors, just need a little common sense, but you cant use a sub, those pesky lfe's like to wander into neighbors house;s and make then irritated, so in short dont buy the system to fit your current needs, buy exactly what you want, for your future, and use a little common sense and respect your neighbors, even tiny speakers have the potential to irritate your neighbors, but tiny will also irritate you

  8. i just reread a few of the posts in this thread, and i am surprised that a person can think they can get get good protection for 50 bucks, especially when power conditioning is included, spikes and poor power from your local power company will eat up your equipment, so if a false illusion of budget over quality gets you going than you go boy

  9. well you have thousands of dollars of audio equipment, ask yourself a question? does it make sense to protect it with 10 dollars worth of wallmart no working power strip, a good power strip couls save you mmany many problems in the future
