i just did not know if any one has come up with the Thiel-Small parameters. if i had those it would be great. yes i do want it to sound good. no replys because nobody has done it, and in 16 yrs of custom subwoofer building i done a lot of off the wall stuff that noone else is willng to do. some not that great and some pretty awesome. the best is 6 15's with crown amps driving them . it was a $100,000 home theatre with a top of the line sub that the guy hated.
  3. get a hold of some who sells da-lite or some one like them . the dell is not very brite. da-lite have sceens you can velcro to the wall eliminating a costly frame and designed for lcd or dlp projecters that need light gain or for rooms that are tough to contol outside light. should cost you $500- $600
  4. but is it not the tuned frequency of the enclosure that creates your curve you desire and the cabin gain. so it should not matter what sub i am using. if i had the Thiel-Small parameters i could design a box better suited for a car enviroment. most manufactures provide these except i am having a hard time getting them from klipsch. i use car subs in my home setup. but the box is built for the house and not my car. best bass i have heard. i have 2 jl 15w3's in sono tube with a divider in the center. one chamber tuned higher for impact and the other chamber tuned lower for the bottom end. thanks
  5. you get them from klipsch parts
  6. a real purist would bypass the binding post on the amp and speakers and hard wire to the pc boards. and dont forget to hard wire your power supply of the amp to the meter.

  8. what is the differance between a car sub and a home sub. the perameters on all car subs are different from one another.you get them from klipsch parts.they are cool looking. i have jl in there now ,like to try different things. i am going to try it tomorrow. let you know how it sounds. i am using a jl mono block amp. have you seen the amp inside of a klipsch sub? not a lot of engineering in there. thanks

  11. i have been a bassaholic for 20 yrs. i have made my living at it for 16 yrs. manufactures are being forced into extreme bass in a compact box. so what you see is what a lot of people have asked for. if you dont give people what they want, you will go out of business. some people dont want to take up space in the trunk. the wife in most cases wont let you junk up the room with boxes that give you heart stopping bass. any way, i do agree, i have not heard a small box or any premade, off the shelf, with an amplifier built in that i thought sounded good. i am hard to please when it comes bass. i think bass should be tight, hit hard, and not sound muddy. i also like it loud. i have had alot of subs in 20 yrs. i beleive what i have now is the best i have ever heard. i currently have parasound hca 1000a brigded to a klipsch pro ki-115-b. music needs to be fun. different subs serve different needs, its all just opinions.
