  1. Guys, If my memory serves me, the K-501 from the 450 was a 1 inch exit and was a tractrix horn(? Roy might have to correct me on this). The K-506 horn was from the 456, had a 2 inch exit and was a tractrix horn. The K-506 might be hard to find in the used market. Guys like JoeyB, have a hard time parting with their KP-456 cabinets.
  2. The EP2 would be the direct replacement for the woofer in the K-480. I don't have any K41's, but if my memory is good. The K-41 was an EV woofer. I just looked on EV's website and the DL10X looks the same as the old K41.
  3. Speakerfritz is correct. The K-49-KP is no longer in production. The K-49-EP2 is the woofer that replaced the K-49-KP.
  4. The KP-480 is an 18" woofer with a 15" passive. These ran about $890 MSRP in the mid 90's. They are a good sub if all you are doing is 3 vocals, acoustic guitar and drums. If you add a bass, I would at least get two of them. I use KP-682's myself, but I run a little bit bigger venues.
  5. Ron, Thanks for the website. That website is a great list of bands. LHTF
  6. Ron, Do you have a website for the band "IQ"? I heard a song the other day on XM's Music Lab and the song was awesome. I have not been able to find an info about the band. Thanks, LHTF
  7. Guys, Liquid Tension Experiment is three members from Dream Theater and Tony Levin on Bass. Those two albums are awesome. If you have not seen them live, you should see them. It will blow you away what they can do live. A bunch of talented musicians.

TSPs Fs 36 Hz Re 3.4 Ohms Qts 0.314 Qms 5.314 Qes 0.333 Vas 198.474 L Sd 0.089 m^2 Xmax 0.29 in BL 15.94 It is a 400 Watt woofer with a Sensitivity of 98.5 @ 2.83V/1M. Freq response is 45 to 3,500 Hz and has a 3 in voice coil. Hope this helps.
  9. It is better to put the low end to the closest boundary. This will get a better bass response from the speaker.
  10. Sounds like you are on the right track. I do not know much about the Bose 502's, but I will ask around. If I found out anything, I will let you know.
  11. Randy, The HF may have a diaphragm busted. The driver can still work with the diaphragm busted. You might want to have a dealer look at the driver for you. About BI-amping the KSM-12, have you taken the input panel off and cut the jumper wires between the top and bottom inputs? If not, just take the input panel off and cut the jumper wires between the top and bottom inputs. The top input is the HF and the bottom input is the LF. If you have any other questions let me know.
  12. Daemom, On the dipoles, the best way to figure out which one faces out. Take a 9V battery and line up the positive lead to the positive terminal and the negative lead to the negative terminal. Which ever woofer moves out is the front of the speaker. If you still have questions, let us know. LHTF
  13. Greg, Here is a web site that might be useful. www.hticsproaudio.com They sell used audio equipment. You might be able to find some Klipsch product on their site. I will let you know if I find anymore websites that sell used audio equipment. LHTF is a bum
  14. PGH, If you bought the KI-262 in the past two years, the spec on the website is correct. The reason for the difference is the HF drivers. The latest KI-262 has a K-68-A compression driver that has better top end. The spec sheet that has 12.5kHz as the upper limit has a K-52-TI. The K-52-TI has a roll off at the higher frequencies. If you have any more questions let me know. LHTF

Dear Sir, The KP-480 cabinet has never changed in size. It might have different configurations. One configuration has handles, a socket cup and trim and the other configuration is just a black box. If you have any questions please feel free to write back. Thanks, LHTF
  16. Hersey2guy, You talked about the black Jubilee 3-way. That is the Theater version of the Jubilee. I also read someone saying that PWK used 3-way speakers. The latest versions are 3-way, but the first Khorns from the late 40's and early 50's were actually 2-way speakers. Now about the KP-250II. Yes, it looks like a Hersey with holes cut in it, but it has a woofer that can handle 250W compared to 100W in the Hersey. The reason it has a higher sensitivity than a Hersey is that the woofer is higher in sensitivity than that of the Hersey 12" woofer. I hope I helped.
  17. Dear FarNorth, Have you gone to the main Klipsch web page and click on "Dealer Locator". It is at the top of the page. Then, put your zip code in the "Commerical Sound Contrator" area. If you still have a problem then call 1-800-554-7724 between 8 o'clock AM and 5 o'clock PM Eastern Time and talk to Pro Customer Service. If you still cannot get anything. Let me know what city you live in and I will try to get the information for you. LHTF
  18. mte, The KP-301's are a three-way system with 15" woofers. They will have more bass than a Hersey and are rated at 400 Watts versus the 100 Watt rating on the Herseys. These speakers are used for a DJ and small club application.
