Hofy's Duct Tape Mounting System (patent pending)
Joshua replied to Hofy's topic in Personal Music Systems
Awesome. And ofcourse, we're 12 years older too LOL I bought pc speakers (Accoustic Energy) of a similar quality at the time because the Klipsch speakers weren't available here, and they're *still* on my desk too. Talking about value for money. I keep telling that to ppl, good quality speakers will outlast quite a few pc systems. So a good headphone/ speaker setup is a good investment in my opinion. -
Hofy's Duct Tape Mounting System (patent pending)

Oh oh, "Die Antwoord" one of my fav bands and as far as I'm concerned, the revelation of last year. South African white trash rap? Who would've thought of that? The funny thing about this thread, other than the fact Hofy's really getting old... is that in all these years I've had several systems, but I'm *still* using my orignal 2.1 system. Talking about value for money. -

I think I found another 2.1 system buyer. [Y] So seemed a good thing to "bump" this thread a little. -

Thx for the info, care to share a link? -
Well, as the sats are magnetically shielded you can place them near your monitor, 2-3 feet apart. And if you place the sub on the floor (under your desk, in a corner) it should be fine too. As long as you don't place the sub *on* your monitor More important is the placing of the sats and the sub woofer, this depends on the accoustics of your room and your personal taste. Best thing to do is try out several places and then decide which one you like best. Just experimenting with the position of the sats can be very revealing.

"you can't really tell how they sound by looking at them, i just found that sorta funny i guess." hehheh, I guess you're right, but then again, we're men, or at least I am, and we like to look at things "bloody brilliant" Uhm, like cars and women.
-
Uhm guys, that's the Videologic Sirocco Pro you're talking about, rest assured, they will completely blow away the Klipsch. You wish you had the money to buy that baby
-
Well, excuse my spelling!
-
Uhm, Wizard, if I'm correct Alternate Computer versand does sell'em. Personally I wouldn't buy *anything* at Alternate coz they don't know the word *service*, but that's up to you. And in case that doesn't succeed you, uhm, might give the Videologic Crossfires a try. Good luck.

Wow this made winamp sounds much clearer!!

Okay, we're off topic anyway. Here's another tip that can be usefull and you may not be aware of. If you like a smiley or a pic from a car/gun/woman/speakers (/me thinks I just described the meaning of life here) right-click on it, up comes a small window with the properties, now copy and paste the link in your explorer et voila, you go directly to the site the smiley/pic came from. BUT, be very careful about using the same smiley/pic, some are made by ppl just for their own use or the pic is copyrighted. Being a copycat is definitely not cool. -

There are zillions of smileys on the web, it can be fun for a while but sooner or later it gets tedious using them, so I stick to the regular ones here is another site, have fun. -

Geeesh! Yeah, just spend all morning (day off and all) reading GeFarce2 Ultra benchmarks, 1600x1200 HQ and still playable framerates! Still, the "old" Geforce2 with the new Detonator drivers is fast as lightning, I mean, who does play at 1600x1200? Even FSAA is feasible now, although clearly (IMO) behind Voodoo. Ridiculous amount of cash tho! Oh, concerning the dotpitch, and I can be very wrong in this, smaller=better for text, .23-.27 better for pictures, images.

AtiRadeonreview Another great card is ofcourse the Hercules (guillemot) Geforce2 64-Mb: "With the same blazing speed at low-resolution tests, the Hercules GeForce2 GTS hardly breaks a sweat. As the resolution increases however, we see a fraction of the speed observed in the Normal quality tests, almost half at 1600x1200. The extra 32MB of memory makes little difference until the high resolutions, reaching a 22% increase over the 32MB GTS at 1600x1200. Again the 3dfx card trots in last, bested by a margin of 24% to 41%. " VooDoo what? You gotta luv benchmarks You can find the reviews at Sharkey's, here and here Ongoing discussion at Arstechnica too, VooDoo5 seems to lose the battle, only performing better with low res and FSAA on, but with action gaming the word is :high-detail, fast fps. You can meet the guys at Ars audio/vid here BTW, did you win the lottery or what?

Ouch, did I forget to mention the ATI Radeon 64 Mb? Great card! (bangs head to wall)
