  1. Larry, Your room size could be the biggest factor. With the larger room I think you will like the PB2+. I think it will have more headroom and will give you the level of bass that you are looking for. I do also agree with contacting Tom. He will be better able to tell you which one will better achive what you are looking for.
  2. For $2500 you are really close to 2 PB2+'s. Can't beat that combo.
  3. I up graded my family room system from the 20-39PC+ to the PB2+. I thought the 20-39 was great but have to agree that the PB2+ is unreal. My room size was the major reason to make the change. It is about 5500 ft^3. The 20-39 was straining. The PB2+ just cruises. My next effort is a dedicated HT room, it will have dual PB2+'s.
  4. I have the same setup as you do. I went with an SVS 20-39PC+ (under $900 with shipping). What a great sub. Then I upgraded to the PB2+, unreal. I would suggest saving up and going with an SVS. They do have some units that are less expensive. Check out there web site and then call them. They are the best when it comes to service before and after the sale.
  5. You might just want to compare for yourself. Order an SVS and try it. All it will cost you, if you don't like it, is shipping. SVS also makes a great box subs that is in the same price range as the Klipsch subs. For me I did the comparision and went with the 20-39 PC+. Awesome power, great for movies and music. Goes low and packs a punch. Hope this help.
  6. I went for the SVS 2039 PC Plus and am more than happy. I would recommend it highly. It is a great match for the RF3II's and works great with movies and music. I listen to a lot of classic rock (50's thru 80's). Most of the songs don't have the really deep bass but the ones that do really sound great. For movies, it is amazing. I added it to a pair of RF3's before my center and rear's arrived. I was watching a movie that I had seen before and was impressed with how much the sub added to the sound. I never new that there were those low sounds. The room I have my system in is a family/dinning/kitchen area. It is kind of an "L" shape with one leg, Family room/Dinning room, at about 16 x 30 feet. The kitchen is the other part of the "L" and it is about 14 x 14 feet. All with 8 foot ceilings. I run the sub volume at about 1/2 and it is more than enough for the room. Also, the sub is not in a corner. I don't know how much difference that would make. The way the room is setup is with the RPTV in the corner. Hope this helps and good luck with what ever you decide.
  7. You have the exact system that I was looking at buying. After seeing a few comments about the SVS 20-39 PC Plus Subwoofer, I kick in the extra bucks and got one. I was also looking at the 3803 or 2802. Did a compromise and went with the 1082. Price is right in between and the specs were real close to the 3803. I have had the system for about 2 months now and it rocks. I can turn the volume up and it is clear and undistorted with a bass that will shack the foundation. The only other systems I looked at were in the stores and none compared to this. I have it set up in my family room and am now working on setting up a true HT in the basement. This system will also have Klipsch, SVS, and Denon. Sorry about the previous posting, I miss hit.
  8. I will be running speaker wire for my rear speakers up through the attic. Should I keep the wires the same length for both speakers or can one be 12 feet while the other is 30 feet? Thanks for any help.
  9. RF-3II RS-3II RC-3II SVS 20-39PC+ I saw someone recommending this system and it is exactly what I have. The SVS, in my option, is much better than Klipsch KSW subs. The combination is great because I can turn it up as loud as I want and get window-shattering bass but can still hear the upper frequencies very clearly. Other systems seem to be much more muted and harder to understand the word, both in music and video's, than with this combination. I will be looking to buy another system in about a year, and I know I will be hard pressed to find a better setup. I use a Denon 1082 Receiver to drive this setup.
