  1. I "grew up in a tennis family". In the late '60s, not all high school coaches were fluent in tennis. My dad and I were playing on one of our city courts when a man, a coach, began to measure the net on the adjacent court. Dad had been an advisor in the resurfacing of the courts and was a strong voice in their maintenance. He asked the man why he was measuring and told him the specifications of the net.

"We're going to put up new nets," the man replied.

"That's great, I've been asking for new nets for several months."

    "We're putting up chain link."

    "Why would you do that?"

    "It lasts longer."

"Then, why don't you put up a brick wall?"

Two weeks later, new nets arrived. They were not chain link.

  2. A great deal of my decision making is distilled from reading poets, novelists, and playwrights who, in my opinion,  have captured and shared the repetitive nature of humanity throughout history. To each, his/her own, I guess.

  3. On Khorns, a Jeff Korneff 45 amp can sound splendid. I haven't heard one on LaS, but assume they are efficient enough to be a good combination. As most of us know, room size and SPL requirements may render the 45 unacceptable.

  4. Sadly, no. I have two litters of puppies in the house and one momma dog just had surgery on a leg. I haven't spun a record in two weeks, either. I did plant some peppers, though.

  5. These are now for sale to fund Jubs. Cornwall III Special Edition. $4000. Maybe 50-60 hours use. They're upstairs, and the Khorns are downstairs with the tubes and turntable.

  6. I got a phone call today.

One of my Standard Poodle pups chewed a power supply wire to unrepairable. Yesterday, I ordered two from Sweetwater.com. This morning, Reid at Sweetwater called to chat about my gear, asked if I had any questions, and told me that the order shipped. I thought forum members would be interested in checking out an audio related business that actually talks to its customers.

  7. Christy told me about an item to be sold at the Pilgrimage as a donation to the museum and I asked if it would be appropriate to bring one of my Standard Poodle pups to sell, with half of the $ going to the museum. I told her I'd post and if there is interest, I'll sell one for $400 and donate $200 to the museum. This doesn't cover my investment in him. Black male (I have four) born 2/11/19 with all deworming and first shots. Full-blooded, not registered. Raised in my house with my adult dogs. Temperament is excellent. Expect him to weigh 55 - 60 lbs. when matured. OR...One brown male $450 with $200 donated to the museum. PM me with a phone number for pics. No interest, no bringy puppy.
