  1. Yeah, they play a wide variety of musics down there I can tell you!

What was the Dr. John CD about N'awlins that you played while we were cooking up all that shrimp? Great stuff.

Dr John........N'Awlins Dis Dat or D'udda

    Blue note records, EMI 2004

  2. Just so you will know a few years ago I was looking up home made b**bs and after about 10 minutes a black screen poped up on the computer and it said you are being monitored by the FBI.[:o] So I stoped really fast and never looked up that again, I don't even type that word if I can help it.

  3. For noise try dry ice in plastic 1 or 2 liter bottle. Put the cap on, wear ear plugs....get a safe distance. Makes a great diversionary tactical weapon.

That also works with muriatic acid with a small piece of aluminum foil folded up in the cap then screwed on and throw it, when the acid reaches the foil it causes a very quick release of fumes. The bad part is it leaves a dead spot in the grass from the acid.

  4. BTW, just like dtel it was propane (sp?) and oxygen in plastic baggies, not coke bottles. Anyone ever seen or heard those kind of "bombs" when they explode? They leave a nice size hole in the ground.[:o]

I guess you put propane and oxygen from a blowtorch together??? How did he set it off?? what method [:P] does he still have all his fingers?

I'll never forget the day dtel set one of those off without my mother knowing. I thought she was going to have a heart attack, and my dad just stood there LHAO. It scared the cr*p out of my mom. It was funny, not to mention deafening.

Dtel does love to make sure your heart is still working. I wonder why none of our girls will help him when he is doing electrical wiring? Come to think of it, I refuse to help him also. We have all been intentionally shocked one too many times.[:o] No wonder my brain short circuits sometimes.

They used to do this in the shipyard I had worked many years ago. They would take a empty bag of chips or a zip-loc baggie left over from lunch.

You would set the cutting torch like you were going to cut metal and just touch the tip of the torch on something and it would extinguish the flame, and you have the perfect mixture. Fill a baggie and place on the edge of a peice of paper or something and light the paper when the flame gets to the bag, small bag sounds like a as loud as a 12 guage shotgun.

  5. Screw the gas and diesel fuel - that's for amateurs. Since you guys are so close to Stennis Space Center, you should've made a trip over there, gotten some liquid oxygen, and did what George Goble did.....

We live about 20 miles away, close enough that you can feel the low freq bass and it sometimes can rattle a window when they test a rocket engine.

About the gas, I had put the gas in small containers like 16 oz and a few 2 liter coke bottles and put them inside the pile of logs. A little while before lighting I put a few gallons of diesel on the outside to soak in the logs, the logs were wet from 3" of rain the day before. When it was time to light it I through a couple more gallons of diesel on the outside of the logs, then lit a old rag and through it on the logs. It somewhat lit , I then threw a 16 oz open bottle of gas where the other containers of gas was, that lit a little. The diesel was not geting hot enough to light so I put some diesel in a bucket and threw it where it had started to light to get enough heat to light the rest of the diesel . When the rest of the diesel got hot enough it lit, to tell the truth you could hardly tell when the containers of gas melted and the gas started to burn ! The only reason I put the gas was to try and get the diesel hot enough to light, it may have helped ?

The whole time there was only one or two people and they were 100 feet away everybody else was 300 feet away on the other side of the pond.

And the picture with the people by the fire was not here it was my fire and the people were added, not by me, you could not sit that close if you wanted to. Everyone stayed on the other side of the pond and shot fireworks and listened to music.

No rednecks or Coonass were harmed in the making of this fire !

I lit it and was about as safe as could be lighting tons of logs, the only idiot close enough to be hurt was me, and that was the last person I wanted to hurt ! And I don't like pain .

And for the tree loving people, and I know y'all are out there. ALL the trees were taken from my sisters property, a mile away. Where the house is going to sit, so I am clearing so they were going to be cut down anyway. And if it helps I still have planted more trees than I have ever killed in the last 14 years of landscaping, if that counts.[;)]

  6. Seems like the "action" has been non-stop for the last two months down there!

Give those Groomlakers a good dose of Dtel hospitality and Happy New Year!

Yes it has been non-stop, and fun, but glad it's over. Although another week with CP ( Mr Klipsch ) would be fun, with no wedding going on at the same time.

Looking forward to meeting some Groomlakers today !

Arfandbark, Thanks again for the HK, it gets alot of use, and sounds great. The poor thing probably thinks it's back in the 70's as much as it gets used.

  7. Stacked up a little pile of wood for new years eve, probably light it about 8 pm. It's about 15' wide and 20' tall, have a few people coming over to watch and shoot a few fireworks, will put some pic's of the fire, later, maby in the am. [D][D][D][C][:S]

    Doing anything special ?
