  1. I'm offering a pair of decent KG2's in walnut oil with consecutive serial numbers. They're for local pickup only in the New Orleans, LA area. The first $50.00 takes the pair. If I don't sell them here, I'll probably part them out on ebay. I hate to do that since they still sound great. The only issue is some separation on a couple of seams, probably from the humidity here in southern LA. My email is chaletclub@yahoo.com and phones are 504-466-0540 (H) and 504-619-1071.
  2. I have some black Heresy II's for sale in case anyone is interested for $250.00 a pair. They're in good shape, but not great shape, and perform nicely. The dust caps are pushed in, which is no big deal. They don't have builtin stands, but I'd include some solid wood walnut stands that are perfect for Heresy's. The only thing is I physically can't ship them, (bad back), so local pickup in the New Orleans, LA area is necessary at this point.
  3. I've got a pair of KG5.2's in oak clear, and a pair of KG1's in oiled oak for sale here in New Orleans, LA. Both are in nice cosmetic, and perfect working condition. They are spotlessly clean. No smelly, dusty speakers here. The only thing worth mentioning is that the previous owner installed 2 hooks on the top of each 5.2, presumably for hanging, but I removed them, filled with wood filler, and you really have to be looking for the spots to see them. It's not a problem, and I'm pretty picky about such things. All you have to do is add a center channel, and you'd have a nice HT setup. I really don't want to go through the ebay thing, and I don't want to deal with shipping. I'm asking $395.00 for all 4 speakers, and I'm open to trade offers, but I'm really trying to raise some funds to buy some Forte's or Forte II's.
  4. I subscribe to Stereophile, and yes, it's interesting they picked the Klipsch speaker at the bottom of the food chain. Stereophile seems to focus on products that either no one's heard of or no one can afford. I do miss Stereo Review magazine, but I also subscribe to Sound and Vision, which I believe evolved from Stereo Review.
  5. This is a corner type speaker, the top is shaped like a baseball home plate. I'm going to let the ebay bid process determine the final price. Please be reminded it's for local pickup only.
  6. I just listed my Shorthorn on ebay. I don't really like using ebay, but I think it's probably the best way to determine the true market value. I don't have the room or need for such a single large speaker. Take a look; I'm sure it's the only Shorthorn listed. Sorry for the bad picture, but I have a cheap digital camera.
  7. I need to find out the market value of the Shorthorn before I'd seriously consider buying another or selling mine. Shipping on both the buying and selling ends would be a pain. Anyway, mine is what I would consider a mahogany color with a sort of rose colored multitextured cloth. It seems a lot of people own one (1) of this speaker, and I guess a lot of people bought only one back in the 1950's and listened to mono. Mine's from 1956. I didn't even know which terminal was positive and which was negative. I guess I just guessed right because it sounds great. There's also a open end ground-like connector that I don't where to hook, but it obviously doesn't affect the sound by not being hooked. What color Shorthorns do you other Shorthorn owners have?
  8. I have one nice Shorthorn 15 from 1956. Anyone have any idea what it is worth? I'm not sure if I want to sell it, or try to buy a mate for it.
