  1. I purchased this center channel new and have the box and manuals. Asking $400 Most of the people on this forum will know the specs, but just in case, this speaker weighs 44lbs and measures 26" w x 9.1" H x 13.5 D with the grill. It has dual 8" woofers and a 1.75" titanium tweeter. Very slight cosmetic veneer damage to one rear corner. We have a smoke free home. I have the grill as well.
  2. I have a question about center channel speakers. For years I have been using the matching reference center channel for my reference series speakers. I have transitioned to heritage speakers and am curious why Klipsch or perhaps the better question is if Klipsch has ever offered a dedicated heritage center channel? I am aware that the original Cornwall was the center channel for the K-Horns, but in the real world house, or, at least at my house, that is not an option. So, is there a traditional center channel in the Heritage line that I have missed? I am currently running Forte II's and am hoping to transition to a pair of Cornwalls. In the absence of a true Heritage center, I have considered modifying a Heresy to lay on its side and have the horns mounted horizontally to the floor.
  3. I think I saw those. Pretty nice looking.
  4. I am not in need of the KG's but I live in HP and have been talking with someone in Winston who has some RB-35's that he would like to sell. Not sure of the color, but being so close and having a similar speaker.... let me know if you want to connect with him and I can reach out.
  5. I am in North Carolina, but am willing to drive for pickup. I've gone as far as Baltimore for a pair of speakers recently, which is 400 miles one way. If you know of some, point me to them please.
  6. WOW! That entertainment center is massive, you my friend have a large bedroom with high ceilings. Very nice. And as @Skichuck77 said, what is going on in the corner my man?!?!
  7. Welcome to the forum, I feel as though I am entering the third quarter, so you are ahead of me. I just picked up some 30 year old Forte ii's and can say with absolute confidence that you would have enough sound for that space. I cannot speak for the Heresy, but I am confident they wont provide enough lower register sound to enjoy as much as the Forte. Best of luck, enjoy the 4th quarter!
  8. I was hit with a stupid stick. I am better now.
  9. With that said, I am guessing the Heresy would be the suggested center channel for the Forte or even for a pair of Cornwalls?
  10. I’ve watched a couple of movies so far, the new Lion King and Terminator Salvation, both with the Forte’s and the RC7 and honestly, it sounds good to me. If there was a way to use a Heresy in my place for a center I would, but the RC7 did good.
  11. I plan on moving the 7's so I can out my attention on the Forte's. I have them toed in, but I heard speaker placement drastically changes the sound of these. Now that I have the heritage sound in my ears, I want more. I have begun to attempt to lay the foundation of the need for the new Cornwall with the wife. So far, at least she knows what I am saying when I mention Cornwall, but I am not holding my breath. Enjoying the Forte for sure though.
  12. Solved. At least sort of. I'ma noob. There was another settings menu and was able to set the TV for a system instead of headphones.🤓
  13. I have an older Rotel Pre-Amp from before HDMI was really a thing. So, I send the HDMI from my blue ray and my Tivo directly to the tv and then send the audio out of the TV's output to the pre amp. I recently upgraded TV's and have noticed significant surround sound loss from the other TV. I am wondering is there a way of taking the signal into the pre amp using a converter, and then out to the TV converting it back to HDMI or do I just need to bite the bullet and live with what I have or update what I have?
  14. After some changes. Before making changes. So, I finally found some used Forte's as I have been considering the III's but couldn't spare the $$ and found these for $700 with Crites upgraded crossovers and tweeters. Doing a little A/B comparisons this morning and for the most part experienced what many others have. The 7's have much more punch, they are more aggressive and slightly more sensitive. I compared 4 songs, each from a different genre, and in 3 of the 4 songs the Forte's registered 1db lower than the 7's. Here is what amazed me. On Norah Jones' Come Away With Me, the 7's hit 85db and the Forte hit 79? I cannot explain the reason for this except that her voice on the 7's are driven more from the 10" driver in the absence of a dedicated midrange, which increased the db's since her voice was the height of the db range. And with the 7's being more aggressive, this was highlighted much more than on Tom Petty's Here Come's My Girl, The Four Seasons (Summer) orchestra, or Gonna Fly Now (Rocky Theme). Now with the difference in the db notes on the Norah Jones song, her voice and the detail in the Forte were much improved to me with my ears in my room on my gear. I suspect having a dedicated midrange smoothed out her voice to a more natural tone and volume, but I reserve the right to be wrong on that. The 7's were much more lively and robust with Tom Petty's song, but the sound stage was better in my mind on every song on the Forte's, but the difference in spacing could be a factor. Overall, based on these 4 samples (limited though it is) these speakers come down to what you prefer. The Forte, at 30, sounds fantastic and more natural for music though laid back compared to the 7's which are much more punchy and aggressive sounding. Something I had never really noticed until the side by side brought it out. I don't really have time for comparing performance on movies or other types of genre's of music, but if I had to guess, when you add in the surround, subs, and the center which carries 99% of the dialogue, I probably wont notice an appreciable difference between the Forte's and the 7's on movies. Any thoughts, personal reflections or suggestions?
  15. Initial impressions of the CDT5800 II in-ceiling speakers. For a number of years, I used the Klipsch RS-7 for my surround speakers in a traditional 5.1 set-up. My room is less than ideal for surround largely due to the fact that the room did not allow for proper placement of a surround speaker. I was forced to mount the speakers near the ceiling without the ability to direct the sound down toward the listener. The result was a very limited appreciation for the RS-7's full sound abilities. The surround sound was vague and ambient sounding. So, after recently planning a remodel, I proactively sold the RS-7's and installed the CDT5800's largely due to the 8" size and the ability to direct the sound towards the MLP. I have not boxed in the speaker, nor have I extensively auditioned them, however, right from the beginning I could tell a massive improvement in the surround sound experience. In just a brief demo of Alan Parsons DTS 4.0 version of Dark Side of the Moon, and some network television using DTS Neo 6, I could tell an immediate improvement. That is the good part. The bad part is what I expected, and that is, the CDT5800's are not the RS-7s. At least so far, I can tell they are hollow compared to the 7's more rich texture and depth. Perhaps boxing them in would improve the depth and texture, but I suspect the speaker is simply going to offer less depth. I am not disappointed by any stretch, in fact, I love the added detail I hear in the surround sound, which is what I was shooting for. So, mission accomplished. I look forward to spending more time with more surround music and movies in the coming days and would welcome any opinions for increasing the depth of sound for the speaker. Soon, I will be giving my initial impressions of the difference between a 5.1 experience versus a 5.2 experience. Stay tuned. Here is a look at what I was doing with the RS-7's and why they were largely neutered. These same corners are the corners I placed the CDT's in. I put them as far back as I could, thinking that one day I might consider ATMOS and install an additional pair between these and the front speakers.
  16. I have a pair of CDT5800's arriving sometime today. The area above the speaker is a pretty traditional attic space with blown in insulation and for the life of me, I cannot find anywhere that states if I need to either: A: Box in the speakers B: Move the blown in insulation away from the speakers (allowing cold air into the living room) C : Fuggettaboutit and just roll with it Does anyone have experience with these or others similar?
  17. Blue Light special? I am dropping the price to $400
  18. Well, I thank you all. I waited for Paypal to open and got what I suspected. It is a scam. So, just in case you are unsure about Paypal transactions, here is what they just sent me: Good luck and good selling. You’ll know that an email is not from PayPal when: The email uses a generic greeting like "Dear user" or "Hello, PayPal member." We always address you by your first name and last name or the business name on your PayPal account. The email requests financial and other personal information. For example, an email from PayPal never asks for the numbers of your bank account, debit or credit card, or driver’s license. We also don’t request your email addresses, your full name, your account password, or the answers to your PayPal security questions. The email includes an attachment or a software update to install on your computer. We will never ask you for money in an email, and we will never ask you to send money through Western Union, MoneyGram or any other third party money transfer service.
  19. Yeah the gift card is a scam my wife almost got bit by, so, I am very cautious and wont send anything until it is buttoned up.
  20. He asked about the condition and the performance, and he asked was okay sending the gift card. Basically my radar when off, but I said if the money is good, I'm good. Not bad grammar, however I did run into that with craigslist. Several emails with really bad grammar wanting me to text them at an email. I emailed instead and haven't heard back.
  21. Me either. Having not really used Paypal in many years, nor eBay, I really don't know if he can get his money back after I send the speakers. Paypal opens in 20 minutes, I will be on the phone.
  22. Hey guys I have a situation and am looking for some advice. I posted my speakers here and ebay and craigslist. I got a commitment from a guy with no reputation on Ebay who wants me to send the speakers to a different state than he lives in and he is paying me full price, + shipping and giving me an additional $300 for a gift card to include in the speaker box. I just received payment through paypal, what are my risks here? Any ideas?
  23. I can check on the shipping and we might be able to work something out if you are really interested in the sub. I'll get a quote and message you and you can decide from that. I'm not opposed to a bit of a road trip, but thats probably longer than I can squeeze in.
  24. Yes. It is easier to these together, but I have no problem piecing them out.
