  1.

Makes sense.  I can't remember the last time we pan fried steak.  Not a pan fan.  Grill it man!  On the subject of cooking meat, have you tried this?

We were turned on to this about 5 years ago or so.  Mainly do it during Winter.  Beef roast (rump roast or your choice).  Season to your liking.  Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.  Put roast in the oven for 5 minutes per pound.  Leave DOOR SHUT.  Turn the oven off after 5 minutes per pound, and LEAVE OVEN SHUT for one hour.  Cooks to a medium rare pink every time.

Example:  5 lb. roast.  Cook at 500 degrees for only 25 minutes.  Turn off oven and let sit for 1 hour.  Has worked every time.

  2. Based on the condition, I would agree with jimjimbo with the $1,000 max.  With all the chips in the wood, I'm thinking $600 - $800.  This is my opinion only but I think that's what your were looking for.  Good luck with your sale.  Have you given any thought to keeping them?  LaScala's are awesome speakers, and if you can buy them and keep them, I would encourage you to do so.   :)

  3. Welcome to the forum.  Based on the subject title, I was thinking more along the lines of...

Sorry, there are a lot of experts here that should chime in and offer the assistance you are looking for.

  5. I didn't make this up, I just copied it. It's called a fatty, if you were to look it up

Depending on the ingredients used (you will see why) start with ground pork the little tubes like breakfast sausage works fine for breakfast flavored Fattys. If it's not breakfast flavored just use ground pork, it also comes in tubes like breakfast sausage but without that flavor.

Use a big piece of aluminum foil to put it on, it will be cooked on it anyway. Shape the ground pork similar to the stuffed loin, a flat rectangle shape about 1/2" thick and whatever size you like.

The stuffing, this is the part that can vary greatly depending on whatever flavor you want, I have heard of dozens of different stuffing's that sound good. Just for a couple of ideas, if it's breakfast flavor add cooked hashbrowns or potatoes, eggs or whatever you like. some ideas other than breakfast flavors are like pizza Fattys, use whatever you like on your pizza. This is the part that's only limited by what combination you can think would taste good together.

Adding the stuffing to the center you roll up all the edges to form a complete shell around stuffing sealing it in. This is why you want the stuffing cooked first.

Not required but always good is to now wrap the outside with uncooked bacon, the one pictured is my first attempt with the bacon it was not pretty but worked.

Now smoke or cook until the pork is done along with the bacon, leave it cool a little and cut it up. I don't remember what is in this one but it looks like bell peppers and cheese and something else ?

Something different to try is stuffed pork loin.

Cut the pork loin about 1/3 it's thickness the length of the loin but not all the way through, then cut the last part in half so it lays open like a equally thick flat sheet of pork.

Somewhat cook what ever you want to stuff it with so you don't have to over cook the loin to have the stuffing cooked. I think we stuffed this one with some pineapple, bell peppers and some hot sausage.

Add the stuffing to the top and roll it up and cook, it may need a few toothpics or string to hold it together while it cooks. Season with whatever you like or what would go with the stuffing ?

These look AWESOME!  I can't wait to try this. :P

  6. Good 4th of July morning to you all!   :emotion-19: Took quite a while to get caught up here.

Luck didn't quite go my way as a kid on 4th of July, so let's just say at age 19 I changed my tune and decided to simply watch others.

Got to get cup #2  :emotion-44:  Be SAFE everyone and have a great 4th of July weekend!  Happy Independence Day  :)

  7. Why do they call them mosquito bites?  Shouldn't they be called mosquito stings?  Or better yet, littleratbastard stings? They are friggin' everywhere up here.  Wettest June ever for IL, or at least since they started tracking it.

    Make him an outside cat.

Lol, thinking that is what we will have now. Give a cat a job month, I guess!

It already has a name now...billybobcat! I will tell her you called it!

This just reminded me of yesterday...

A friend of mine got a baby fainting goat a couple weeks ago.  I saw it yesterday and he told me the whole story and it cracked me up.  From him picking it up in his 1990's Cadillac Deville and transporting it home in a dog crate in the back seat, to the creative name he gave it...that's right "Billy" , to experiencing it actually faint.  He is getting more comfortable with his new home with chickens and roosters sharing the digs.  Kind of makes me wish I had jumped on a Free CL ad a week ago with several free fainting goats.  Maybe they are the ticket to helping me maintain the garlic mustard and buckthorn growth.

  11. Good morning C&C gang!  Finishing cup#1  :emotion-44: and need to get caught up here.  A ton happened and happening.  Happy to see that everyone is doing well for the most part and dealing with the curve balls life throws us.  Looks like you had a fun trip MM.  That's the way to do a gear run...make it into a sight seeing adventure and meet some members in person.  Looks like you had a great time.

MKP & Joesportster, I hope things continue to improve for you and your family.

I need to go back a couple weeks and review more closely.  It's a beautiful day here and need to attack some outdoor projects.  I will go back here tomorrow when it looks like it will be raining.

For all you retiree's, it's Saturday so you can sleep in!

  12. Rockford used to have an excellent venue...On The Riverfront...maybe that's what you are referring to.  It was cancelled a few years back.  That's where I saw the Allman Bros last...2004.  It's a shame that it couldn't continue.  Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin is prospering with a lot of great outdoor venues this summer...Heart being one of them..Frampton, and many other great classic rock gigs.

  13.

    Chew a juniper berry first.

Good Call, when drinking Gin over the last 30+ years it's only Bombay Safire, on the rocks.

Im thinkin this Gin&Tonic is a kid friendly drink, sure not my Fav.

However knowing what one should taste like, i will in the future order one in the Bar, but just one.

Now your talking!  Bombay Saphirre is the only gin I will drink...and yes straight up on the rocks, baby!  I had a 1.75 bottle or Tanqueray that sat around for a few years.

  14. I hear you there.  Under doctors orders I was told to drink vodka & tonic 5 or so years back.  O.K.  maybe he just said tonic, but I've been using it as an excuse and permission to drink Vodka & tonic.  When it comes to tonic, insist on Canada Dry, and now they have lime flavored Canada Dry tonic.  I still get sick of it after 2 or 3 and need to move into vodka on the rocks with a splash of cranberry pomagranate, which I will be doing here in a few minutes.  Take my word for it...Canada dry tonic...NO SUBSTITUTES.  Seagrams tonic sucks as does any other brands.  Canada Dry!  Got it?  Good!
