Moderators Youthman Posted January 10, 2009 Moderators Share Posted January 10, 2009 I was checking out some Velodyne speakers and came across this. Oh my goodness. I can't imagine having a DD12 and a DD18 in one cabinet. I bet this would best the JL Fathom. Way above my budget but I bet it totally rocks. Moderators Youthman Posted January 10, 2009 Author Moderators Share Posted January 10, 2009 The 1812 has been around for about 5 years now . I probably never noticed it due to price. [] It's 385 lbs with 2500 RMS/5000 peak. My chest hurts...I think I need to sit down.

sunburnwilly
Before I purchased my DD18 I nearly won an 1812 on ebay . I was at work when the auction ended and got sniped . That one was a dealer demo with the full factory warranty and went for $5,300. . My high bid was $5,150. . Missed it by that much []
Moderators Youthman Posted January 10, 2009 Author Moderators Share Posted January 10, 2009 You gotta hate that. The only problem is that you never really know how close you were. Their hightest bid might have been $6500. You still have one kickin sub.
Eskimo1
For $5k, imagine what you could DIY.. or even if (like me who has no wood skills), you hired someone to make the enclosure.. I won't say anything bad about it though..

No doubt. I would then be able to hold a MASSIVE subwoofer in front of my face and say, "Hey honey, get the camera." LOL. I can only imagine how much bass your DIY sub is hammering in your room. Nice job.
