Tomtastic
I have a pair of RP-5's, wondering if it's possible to get replacement grills. Like the speakers but the grills are plastic and brittle. Most of the plastic pegs have broken. I like the newer magnetic ones. Any suggestions? colterphoto1
you can buy the little powerful neodynium magnets for just such a purpose from Parts Express. Then you get to figure out how to attach them.
Dale A B
I have RF 3's with the same problem. I was able to use a hot-melt glue gun and reattach my pegs, but can't vouch for the long term solution. With all the complaints on broken pegs, I would consider that a design flaw from the get-go. Groomlakearea51
CP pointed out the solution... Alex has the method. Generally, a hot glue will work for the magnets. You can also use an epoxy. I'd remove the original female pieces and mount the magnets in the holes with only a minimum "sticking up". You should also grind or cut off the broken knobs and sand that surface flat. Tomtastic
Good ideas. I thought about adding magnets but hadn't thought about hot melt glue. The grills are in good condition, besides the broken pegs. I think I've thrown away all the broken pegs or lost them. Thanks for the suggestions. falcon20x
If you have all the pieces what you can do is go to home depot get a small wooden rod which will fit right in the hollow pegs. Slide it in place then cut it to the need it length, glue the all thing back together with gorilla glue. I fixed mine 4 years ago that way and I never had another issues since. As a preventive measure you can do the same on the non broken pegs as well
