nezff
My new 876 has the ability to bridge the front left and right speakers. In the manual it says at least a 8ohm speaker is required for bridging. What it does, is give more power to the left and right speakers. Instead of 140, it gives around 200 watts into those two channels. My question is, Are my RF63s ok to bridge? I was under the impression this would drop the ohms down? I could be wrong.
wuzzzer
The main question here should be - how loud do you listen? At 140 watts your RF-63s are putting out around 120 decibels. I'd rather have the same wattage going equally to all my speakers. I don't think it would be a problem, Klipsch officially states that RF-63s are "8 ohms compatible" although there are drops into the high 2-3 ohms on some models. nezff
I was just wondering since the option was there. I watch movies and play games at decent volume.
htxpert
The 876 has enough power to drive even in-efficient speakers to deafeninglevels. Klipsch speakers are very efficient and there is absolutely noreason to do this even in huge multi-media rooms and home theaters. Ifyou double your amplifier power you would only achieve a net 3db gainanyway.
