Kain
Martyrs and A l'interieur. I personally haven't seen either of them but they seem to have gotten great reviews. Have a look at the following thread on AVS Forum. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1128517

seti
Check out Cannibal Holocaust. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078935/ In the beginning of this film we meet a documentary team of three youngmen and a young woman. They are heading for the south-American jungleto search for real cannibals. After a while the crew is reportedmissing and a rescue team is send from the US. This team gets in touchwith an amazon tribe called the Tree-people. The tree-people gives themthe only remains of the first crew - the film rolls containing thematerial this crew shot during their search for real cannibals. Back inthe US we get to see these films. We now get to see exactly whathappened to the first crew. This is where the Blair Witch got their style and inspiration but much better. Classic 70's 80's horror. It looked so real the film crew was detained and arrested in several countries where they tried to show the film.

I also read that the animal killings were all real and that the director got in trouble for that.

Ah very cool. I am sucker for old B movies. If you have any suggestions let me know. My girlfriend and I really enjoy older B movies. Unfortunately animal killings were not that out of place back then. This was also an issue with the surreal move The Holy Mountain.
