Jelkster
Hey guys, I have always had klipsch in mind since I still own their 4.1 computer speakers. Here is what I have been thinking my setup will be: FRONT: RF-82 REAR: RS-62 SUB: RW-12d RECEIVER: Harmon/Kardon AVR 340 CENTER: XL-23 Now my main questions are 1: will the receiver be sufficient? and 2, will the XL-23 be sufficient. I'm afraid the RC-52 will be too big to place on the mantle above the fireplace, so instead of going with absolutely no center (which i heard is bad) I'm considering the XL-23. I'm all ears guys. jamesV
1: will the receiver be sufficient? Well the good thing is that it has pre-outs so if you feel like you need more power you can go down that road. I would say to get the speakers and hook them up to see how you like it. It is all going to depend on your room and your ears on weather or not it is going to be enough. 2, will the XL-23 be sufficient No, if you are going to use a different center it still should be in the same family, plus the RC-62 would be the matched center for the RF-82. If you are thinking about getting the XL-23 why not consider going with that whole setup?. The matching rears should be the RS-52, as the setup list here. Jelkster
I'm gonna go with the XF-48 home theater system. it's set. i wont make the purchase until around a year from now, so hopefully the price will come down a little. but yea, i thnk thats the right one for me, especially since i will have a contemporary room design. edit: As far as receivers go, I think it will be the HK AVR 340 vs the Sony STR-DN1000 that's due out in the summer. There should be plenty of reviews to read before I'm ready to make a decision. But like I said, I'd appreciate any input. http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/sony-str-dn1000/4505-6466_7-33539697.html' class="cnet-product">
wuzzzer
Unless the Sony receiver is an ES unit don't even consider it. The Harman/Kardon will be a million times better.
