Mrphats1999
I just got my KSW-12 today and I need to know which settings would be ideal. For instance what LEVEL and what LOW PASS. I should have it on. Also I went to get subwoofer cable, Puchased the monster cable today *49 dollars. It only had one connection on each end, however the subwoofer has 2 inputs while the reciever only has 1. I was thinking there should 3 connectors. The monster cable says that I only need to hook it up to the left input. Let me know your opinion. Thanks alot Phats ------------------ My current home theater system.
Klipsch Quintet's 4
1 KSC-C1
Pioneer VSX-D810S
Pioneer DVD 343
working on getting KSW-12
MS X BOX as well
matthew2
After you find the best placement, (there are lots of threds for that) Liston to music, (or movies with Quints) and play with the settings. With such small mains, try crossing the sub over at 80-85HZ? Make sure the gain is low enough that you don't get a really boomy sound. When subs like that are cut high, they tend to do that lots. As for the connection, monster is probibly right. Have you tried it yet? ------------------ Matthew Klipsch Rocks
Klipsch-daddy
First welcome, go and get a y cable and plug both ends into the subwoofer. This will give you a +6 db gain!. Second if your receiver has a lfe on it go ahead and turn the crossover to 120. This way you will get all the effects on dvd's. I have my gain on about 9 and the crossover setting is on about 75 on my yamaha receiver. It sounds muddy placed in a corner so place it about 2-3 feet from the corner to give the port some chance to move the air out. I also had the driver facing the main seating with the port pointed to the ceiling and it sounded good also. But I have a 2 year old that would LOVE to color and poke the woofer with a crayon! ------------------ Home Theater: Yamaha RX-V1000 Klipsch RF-3's Klipsch KSC-C1(LOOKING FOR A RC-3 OR RC-3II) Kenwood KSV64 Bipolar Speakers Klipsch Subwoofer KSW-12 Television: TOSHIBA THEATER VIEW 50" DVD Player SONY S-360 CD Changer CDC 585 5 Disc Yamaha Harman Kardon TC-1000 monster cable interconnects/12 gauge speaker wire
