fini
Would this be a step up from my JVC QL-A2? There's one at a garage sale in my neighborhood (part of a system for sale as a package, but I might be able to purchase separately). Not sure what cartridge is on it now. Any responses gratefully accepted. fini
Mike Lindsey
I have two Dual tables at the moment. A CS-721 bought new in '78 and a CS-5000 off eBay last year. I like them a lot but I know there are better out there. I say go for it... what do you have to lose? fini
What would be a good price for the 1219, then? fini
Mike Lindsey
It's a garage sale, right? I'd offer $20 and see if they bite. For more info on the table, see here ... Mike
willjam
Owned a 1218 at one time and it provide excellent and trouble-free service. I still own recordings that was played on it. No noticeable damage to the recordings. They still sound excellent. I would say $20-30 dollars would be a fair price considering condition and age of the player. I would make sure that it the platter spins and has not frozen up due to inactivity. I have a Denon TT that was given to me that was DOA. ------------------ Bill J. fini
Well, it turned out to be a non-working 1219, which they sold to me for $5, along with a Pioneer PL-41 TT (also $5, also non-working), and a Pioneer SX-1050 Receiver ($50-works). Ther seems to be lots of info on the Dual turntable online, not so much on the Pioneer turntable (which has a pretty cool, late 60's sleek design with a solid wood base). I'll examine them more closely after my wife has gone to work, and I can safely transfer them from my truck to the Bat Cave... fini
