MistaChy
I was told by that the yamaha rx-v3900 would have more power to push 2 rf-83's than the Marantz sr-8002. Is this true... will the yamaha actually give a higher quality sound over the marantz or is this guy smokin dop? I was sure I had the impression that the marantz would do a better job? Mr. RF62
The Marantz will do a better job! If you do the research on the S&V mag site, they give the values for the receivers power output, if you match them up, the Marantz holds its true power in comparison to the Yamahas. MistaChy
Okay that's what I was thinking from all u guys have told me here. My 8002 should be here in a few days. But one more question. How do the denon top of the lines compare withe top of the line marantz?
Mr. RF62
The Denon has more bells and whistles than the Marantz, but I'd still say that if its power output your looking for, while the Denon will hold its own, I would still pick the Marantz, they put less into features and more into ergonomics. nezff
if sound quality is what you are after, then get you a decent receiver and a emotiva amp.
MistaChy
Well I already bought the 8002 and it just shipped today. I went to listen the that yamaha 3900 on some rf-62's at the store and it distorted when it got loud... trash. If the marantz don't work out, thenthats what I might resort to.
